Well Just got me the basic kit of the Yamashita Egi Sutte R type a range of all colours for all conditions. Oranges, Pinks, Rainbows and naturals. I'll be getting one of those shimano sephia Egi bags 👌 I just love having parcel in the mail 😂 I'll be feeling more organised and ready which surely means I'll catch more 🎣 😉 Cheers for the tips lads

I was looking on eBay for a magnet the other day, do you know where I can get one from a shop in Sydney? It's all stainless steel and lead isn't it?

Lol I have probably spent 3 days of my life perving on squid jigs. I wish there was a bulk pack I could buy that covers all conditions so I'm ready for anything. Looks like a snorkelling session down there would pay off, some of them still in the packet.

There's a storm just hitting sydney right now. Just as I approached Bare Island it started getting worse and worse. It took me 30 minutes to travel here. It was about 19:30 Reallywanted to have a quick flick in dusk to darker hours. So I took my usual lures and a bucket, tied it to the post with a ratchet strap (just to be safe ya know). So there I was casting away and somehow a gust of wind blew my bucket into the water with all my lures and pouch and other tackle, I've spent weeks building up that collection i left the pouch open and they all fell out as it floated around. Lost it all man absolutely wounded I got some help of a another EGI Fisher named Mick such a legend helped me get the case back with 2 or 3 lures still in it. I'm pissed off with myself that I littered the ocean with plastic and depressed I lost all my jigs, they were beautiful. That's me taking a break

I mean when it gets snagged, maybe clip a sinker onto the line and try to throw it off the weed or rock its on.

Thanks for the info, I have learned the hard way, i was also thinking of a mad idea to slide a big sinker down the line somehow to pop it off lol! I got a Daiwa Emeraldas mx2508 reel and a major craft sol para rod a real pleasure to use. 😍 Ordered a bunch of Tsunami jigs the natural fish skin colour has worked for me and $5 I can handle compared to the egi no pyon pyon I lost I was gutted plus I hate leaving shit in the ocean.

Keen for that kingiechaser I'm chasing kings that's my ultimate goal in life right now. Hahaha PM me let me know! I've got a small 3.2m boat and 5hp engine still learning what it can handle and all the jargon and that bommie definitely sounds like a no-go lol! Need a radio for emergencies before I go out of protected areas.

I had a look there, some fella recommended that area but I didn't have the right footwear, the waves were coming in hard knee high in the only available spot, was pretty busy. Wasn't so confident in my traction! If you are fishing from a boat apparently there is a bommie that's supposed to hold a decent amount of squid.

Water was green to clear but good casting conditions to practice at least I was at Bare Island off the bridge from 8am to 11am caught a small one ideal for bait seen 3 on chase. Nothing after that. The first catch on my new dedicated Egi set up so was pleased. Technique improving and first time i didnt lose a jig 🤣 so a was a good day.

Anyone up for a Egi session, Morning or evening actually any time of day, somewhere not sure on other exact locations around Sydney but the only place I've had luck is Bare Island and Rocky Point. Not so great luck last few sessions. Around sydney. Otherwise can anyone share some good spots. I know "just look for the weed" but I cant really tell what's there. Can go at the drop of a hat usually. Trying to improve my skill, keep losing expensive jigs getting annoyed with it. I was reading through thinking it was an ad for sunglasses.. well said mate I'm a true believer in eye protection. Lost my Ray Bans in the water last time I went out immediately bought a decent polarised pair for fishing with the strap.

Only just seen this post mate, I have a 3.2m porta-bote! Bit of a pain to set up on ya own but. If you mean tow the boat I've got a tow bar on my pathfinder. I would be mad keen to help you out, I'll even bring lunch and beer for you haha 😂 Seen so many videos of dollys too far out of reach for me and my 5hp Suzi!

Hello Raiders, hows it going! 😁 I'm Steve live in Sydney a Chippy and from the UK been into fishing a fair bit since I got here, but always a stab in the dark. Had a lucky day when I first got my new rod I caught a MackTuna at Gymea baths been "hooked" ever since. I've been mad obsessed over the last few months since I got my boat. Had some epic days fishing but some BIG donut days recently I think because I'm trying to learn by myself. Hope to learn from you guys, maybe you can show me how to get my first Kingfish I have studied alot and understand the basics and have all the gear. The missus is getting sick of it now haha be good to meet up and land some hoodlums!
