    New Dvd

Hi guys were can you buy the Ifish episodes from?? and the xxxxxxxxxx from cheers
  2. Hi Pete By coincedence I just bought the Fisherman & Boatowner Mag July issue simply because the boat you mention is on the front cover and I wouldn't mind owning one of these!! anyhow there is a three page read of their test of the boat and it would more than answere your questions, for the price she looks like a good outside boat if that is what your after. Cheers
  3. Hi Mate the last time I went to shoalhaven was when my eldest son was around 7 years old, lets see he's 24 now not home anymore time sure flies. Anyhow at that time I found all this bait as you mentioned we had a great time collecting some pippies but I realised that there were some big ones to be had if I ventured a little bit into the water and at a lillte over knee lenght I was collecting some nice ones. That is how I discovered how to also catch crabs and every so often I felt a crunch on my toes and sure enough another crab and mate they don't let go of that toe!!! Just thought I'd mention it just in case you need a crab or two Cheers
  4. Mate if I had a rig that cost 2 to 3 grand I would not bother insuring it as I think it is not worth paying a premium for it but anything worth 6 grand upwards I would insure. There is no telling when something is going to happen but if you lost your rig and the other person is not insured you'll be sorry then. You can also go to the ramp and find your trailer missing what then?? Happened to a couple of mates of mine and the last one it happened to he decided that year he did not need insurance anymore!! Cost to him $3000. You only need for something to happen once and I never gave being on the water a thought as a risk, it's going to the ramp and back water that worries me most and when out fishing is the trailer going to be still there!! Cheers
  5. Mate I have fished the Brisbane waters for many years the funny thing is I fish the opposite of what you're doing. I always go out on the runnout and have always found the last hour of the runnout to turn it on. That ofcoarse is inside the bay for offshore I prefer a going up tide and fish in between the change. Hope you find this helpfull Cheers
  6. Mate is that a cobia or a samson fish to me it looks like a samson fish but I'm no expert Cheers, great catch regardless
  7. Hi Mate I have tried the fad of Botany the closer one about 3 weeks ago and geez it was slow plus the dollies were of a smaller size and had we had the time we would have went out wider for sure, trouble is we also took our wives with us and while we found them a nice spot at laperouse we made a blunder showing them how to use the radio when they wanted to get in touch with us Need I say more!! At Wollongong the wave rider which would be the same distance as the fad at Botany has, while producing alot of dollies they where a tad small to my liking but out wider at the fisheries fad the dollies were a better size and we lost a couple of biggies due to poor hook ups. I say go wider Weather looking good thursday might have a go myseld don't know wait and see Cheers
  8. I use Quells which work ok for me and really I'm not adding anything new to what has been already said but lately I'f I ate something a little spicey the nite before try also, well in my case I use mylanta tablets. I take two just as I leave home to settle the stomach and take them on the boat with you Cheers
  9. I have to agree with wetpatch, if the radio is stuffed and has a few years under the belt I would throw the thing away and buy a new radio. At the end of the day the repair will end up costing you at least a $120 and you still have an old radio with salt corrossion in it>!! $145 for a newie dirt cheap!! Cheers
  10. Most have been drunk last night I now realise it's a fishing license you guys are talking about Cheers
  11. Since when do you need a license to use your boat in Botany Bay?? As far as I know as long as you stay under 10 knots you don't need a license no matter how big the boat is!! Mind you I do have a license and I recommend you get one but as I said before it is not law to have one cheers

    Boat Insurance

Have always been with GIO but in the past they would not insure equipment, since suncorp took over all my fishing gear and boat accessories are covered. Cheers
  13. Hi guys well the time has come for me to say goodbye for a couple of weeks, these past couple of days have been spent in preparation etc and just finished the packing, we're ready to go. Really want to thank everyone here, your bloody terrific!! I have been given a great deal of info that I haven't been able to get else where and I thank you again. All I have to do is translate all that info into fish capture, fingers crossed and hopefully will have a few pics of some decent fish to brag about Thankyou and cheers Joe
  14. Geezzzzzzzz I have been looking for this post did not realise I put it in fishing reports Sorry!! I have never used the stuff but I was after something where you can toss it in the water and down she goes without having to wet it down. A friend of mine use to buy a certain brand of cat food and it was a beaut, just toss and down it went to the bottom can't remember the brand. I'm not really after 40 kilos cause I want to take the stuff up with me to portstephens perhaps I might just wait till I get up there and find a co op. just have to cut down on weight that's all it's amazing how much shit you can take with you. Iain I also most of the time use bread which I buy from the bakery stale ofcoarse and dry it till it's rock hard and mix it with left over pilchard from the last fishing trip. Nothing beats that formula but I'm going to need back up in the next couple of weeks so I thought chook pellets might come handy Thankyou gentlemen for your help again!! Cheers Joe
  15. Hi guys has anyone or does anyone use chook pellets for burley?? if so what brand do you use as I don't want anything that floats on the water. Or perhaps if you use any other sort of pellet please enlighten me Cheers Joe

Wow nice boat fastone nicely set out as well Hope you do well at Nelsons bay I'll be there in a week and a half, for two weeks with a mate of mine actually taking two boats up, if your still there hope ot bump into you, exchange notes, what reports have you been hearing?? Cheers Joe
  17. Yep same here, don't like them tentacles on my arms at all!! So the poor thing gets a few jabs in the head before I flip the head in record time. I have never caught anything with them though. I much prefer squid to eat and fish. Going down Porthacking tomorrow will take some pics if we catch something thats if I can find my sons digital. Cheers
  18. Pedro when you buy the trailer cable for you new set up you can either buy 5 or 7 strand wire. I always get the seven for a small amount extra. Here is a diagram that you will understand and find usefull when doing the project.
  19. What nice news this is can't wait to get up there, but I think I will settle to take with me fresh squid and pilchards, I have many reports of good captures of Jew so I'm def going to take the Alvey with me who knows might get lucky. Cheers Joe
  20. I agree with Boppa, when the lights where on the trailer had nothing but problems with them. Made my own board for a silly amount of dollars really took a minute to remove from trailer not a problem for 12 years till I sold the boat. New trailer has different set up with waterproof lights, will leave on till they stuff up, new board already made up to take their place again minimal dollars and nothing beats it!! Cheers Joe
  21. Hey thx guys for your help, I do have that link in my bookmarks but when someone has just been out on the water you get more exacting info of what the temp in a certain area is, mind you I know the next day that can all change and the water can be as cold as hell. Thankyou for the welcome as well, this site is developing slowly but surely in the right direction Cheers Joe
