  1. Cracking bass there MM! And Great looking water your fishing in too. I hate the winter no surface popping stretch, it does my head in.....also love my sugar pens, great all round surface lure for bream, bass and whiting.....if there is a big flatty in the area too they will give it crack, but you might need to change your undies after the explosive surface strike.
  2. Just booked a 4 day live aboard Fiji charter for Mid June with 3 other mates. Marlin, Sails, GT's....I'm a little excited....

    1. Hodgey

      Hodgey

Check your pulse if you're only a LITTLE excited :-) Good luck mate. Look forward to the report!

  3. They don't call you Bassboy for nuthin....great effort mate....I must say fishing glenbawn in the deep is so much harder than pitching spinner baits into the tree or surface popping....
  4. Got an email during the week. Lake Conjola was open on Thursday night the lake rose about half a metre over a week and a half with all te rain....fingers crossed the fishing at Easter will be good....
  5. That is what fishing is all about - passing the knowledge on, and watching your young fella smack a PB ....what a great story and cracking fish for Rob to boot....like Swordy I too am a codless fisho and very jealous..
  6. What a cracking video....no wonder starlo moved to the top end and left Tuross behind. I thought you pic look like a Chaulker shot, he is without a doubt the best fishing photographer in Australia. I liked his Foster article a month or so back in FW too.
  7. Bet it's even dirty now after last night and this mornings down pour. And nice fish...
  8. Trophy lizards RC. Did you wackem on placcy's? What was the length of the stonker? Must have been close to 1m....
  9. Thanks so much to Purefishing for my FOTM prize pack that arrived the other day....how good is this, just like Christmas!
  10. Haha just looked at your pics again....pic4 is great - I think it's saying "get that up ya raiders!"
  11. Did anyone else see Roberta yet again in the weeks email from FW....dam I'm jealous.

  12. That's a stonker, they do get to jumbo size down there. From memory Coyote got one that went 46, doing the same thing walking the flats and chucking hard bodies...must get down there some day....I can see why they run ABT's there.
  13. It was a cracking fish on stupid string not silly string!!!! As to whether I deliberately ignored his call for help i guess we'll never know....what a shame his capture was in January and the January FOTM comp is over, locked down, never to be re opened and won by me....hehehe. It tasted delicious that night as Coyote said....hard to beat fresh king steaks on the BBQ. Nice pic by the way, my compliments to the photographer.... (I wonder if you can pick up on the under tones of my jealousy.....well done again cuz, in truth I wish I had of heard my phone so i could have zipped up he river to give you a hand)
  14. Thanks mate....She went like the clappers...I think that's 2 sweet water fish in a row with Slinky's Cod in December. Thanks to the Raiders that voted too and of course our awesome sponsor Pure Fishiing.....my capture wouldn't have been possible without PureFishing's outstanding 4ld Fireline Braid....
  15. I found the same on the north coast too. I think what happens is lots of locals say to themselves "I will wait till the Christmas season finishes before I head out again" and many tourists don't actually target bass so you end up getting these magic places to yourself. Plus it definitely pays to make the effort and get to unfished places and traveling that little bit further than you really want too. I also think that a big percentage of tourists that hit the coastal towns actually live in bassy type areas so the last thing they want to chase is bass when on holidays and will target bream/flathead/whiting or go wide. For me I live nearer the coast and enjoy chasing fish on holidays that I don't normally get to chase during the year. Just my thoughts anyway....
  16. I have the triple container that Mark is referring to...and love mine....will pm where I go it from....I just refill with some crazy legs or something similar, but as you say I now have a bunch of crazy legs sitting there that I don't use.
  17. Mate looks like you had red hot summer there....very fat fish, great to see the southern rivers firing. Did you see many others out there whilst you were or did you have it all to your self?
  18. Definitely choose the right dates mum and dad stayed this week too. Said the river has looked like a owl of coco pops, Thursday was the first day they saw the blue was pushing back up the river. Great spot up there...if you spend some time up there and want to target bass just PM me. Hodgey it was great to see mum take the trophy, she smiling lke a Cheshire Cat when got her hands on it. Can't wait to get back there next year.
  19. I'm badly missing wacking those bass now that I'm back at work. Funnily enough the river would be totally unfishable due to the sheer volume of rain. Glad I snuck in before. Still can't believe we managered a cracker flat and Jew on spinner, we don't fish them very often other than the dams for bass and Goldens. I suppose an ep would hit them too? Thanks for all the other comments, we had a great time and you just can't beat family holidays mixed in with some solid fish.
  20. That's a solid lizard on the surface, at that size the strike would have been like a barra boof! Sorry to hear about your shoulder if I couldn't cast for a long period of time it would do my head in, I hope the road to recovery isn't too long and you are back popping before you know it.
  21. Just some wet day fun on the Wii....he he he.
  22. Yep they definitely eat smaller fatty's, I also had a big girl follow up a small one I caught on placcy....it's awesome to watch, you are standing there watching it saying eat it, eat it....
