    New Bits

Hi Deek, The cover and bimini were made by Streamline in Kirawee, top job by a pair of nice blokes ... I have had 3 covers done there over the years and will go back there again, one day. Thanks for all the compliments guys, I am really pleased to be this close to finished

    Capsize

No lights happens all the time on Botany Bay I am thinking a pair of night vision goggles would come in handy ... for the coppers

    New Bits

Here are some pics of the latest mods to my Polycraft ... Handrails are courtesy of (and available from) Yabbie Marine ... The handrails have also allowed the fitting of a Storm cover ... But wait, there's more ... And bimini ... Thanks also to Mr Howard for my first tax refund in 12 years
  5. How shallow was the water they were hooking them in Landed and tagged 11 Great Whites, but not the same one twice ... along with 22 pulled hooks or bitten through the stainless trace What about how this bloke discribed dropping the bait from his surfboard and hooking up ... "We have had some quick takes" "but we've never seen a shark while paddling out" I would need a glass bottomed surfboard, an armour plated wetsuit and a supersize nappy ... just to watch from the beach

    2 Stroke Or 4

Get a Polycraft 3.1m Tuff Tender and a 15hp 2 stroke. That would be a great cartopper for a round Australia adventure
  7. Onya Jewel, You may not want to go back to work ... have you ordered yourself a boat for "D" day, (when Fishrunner takes his back)
  8. You told me at the ramp you were going to get yourself a Jew at the top of the tide ... WELL DONE
  9. That ... is madness Say it ain't so
  10. Thanks to Mr Yabbie for moving Outnumbered so Shurcan could go for a swim last night Great blokes aren't they Brian Bluecod .... very little, apart from a very fussy owner I got the boys at Yabbie to add a Permatrim. It is now hard to tell where the plane starts/finishes ...top end speed is the same ... it fairly jumps out of the water and will drag the biscuit and skiers so much better now ... very happy P.S. A pair of good bream and a nice whiting came home for lunch from the Hacking
  11. OK ... it's old news But it does seem like a good idea
  12. Got mail yesterday from BRP Australia (Evinrude/Johnson) ... a Data-Dot DNA kit. This is the latest in anti theft devices and has been supplied by BRP/Evinrude free of charge to protect my 60hp Etec. I wonder if all manufacturers will follow suit?
  13. Very unlucky Ken. Only solution is to use the boat more often
  14. That's the way the Stradic is made. Nice looking rod ... when under load
  15. So, Joe ... you eat squid so you can catch decent fish ... your lucky undies aren't working then I am staying in a drinking village this weekend ... with my fishing problem things could get interesting
  16. Job done ... $750.00 was the quote from Polycraft ... $280.00 was the total bill including first class Marine Ply and stainless everything Next project is ... a week-end fishing
  17. Trim it all the way down before you hit the gas Rabbit. This will keep the nose as low as possible. Trim it up as you get back towards level. You do sound like a happy bunny
  18. Onya Ben Took you long enough to crack a Jew on plastic ... you were saving up for a special one @ 90cm ... now you gotta get one on a frozen prawn
  19. Ozy, I have never heard of either ... must be some other trade ... maybe you need a carpenter or builder or somesuch ... so, ummm I'm very sorry I can't help you build a new floor for your annex while I am on my holidays I will drop by after every fishing trip to drink your grog and check on progress ... if you want I can take your boat for a spin every second day, just to keep it ready for when you finish the floor
  20. You are right Bluecod ... it is much stronger that way ... here's a better pic ...
  21. NOT the Dart Floors are best made outa concrete ... formwork I can do Clark Rubber, thanks Bluecod
  22. Bluecod, you were right When I tested the tilt it was with the wheel hard to starboard ... tilted the motor all the way up and then moved it all the way to port ... and it didn't touch at all. This arvo I tilted it up with the rudder amidships and it "gained" over 40mm After fixing that I did the hatch and secured the panels together ready for the carpet. Finding the carpet is the next problem ... the original Polycraft stuff has a rubber backing ... the guy in Whitworths looked at me like I had asked for a toasted monkey Anyone know where I can find some ... carpet that is, not toasted monkey
  23. Hi Hazza, I did think about using that stuff, but the marine ply was available just round the corner ... besides which ... this old cabinetmaker can't resist the smell of timber The weight won't be an issue with the Etec Thanks anyway
  24. Yeah I am sure ... .. but you are right, it sure looks tight in that pic ...
