  1. We will out Thursday as well in the seafarer victory. Call sign 'black'n'blue'. Good luck guys, Hope you have a great day.
  2. Thanks for sharing the info. That eddy out real wide looked promising on the charts. What's happened to the YFT, they never really showed up last year either. Better luck next time.
  3. Must be something on those frigates. We found a quick 8 on Saturday between the shelf and browns. As soon as we dropped the Xmas tree back, they were on again and again. Did not pull drag on 8kg. Love those photo's. is that gopro on a kite?
  4. Have to agree with smoked1. Don't go near Tomaree and keep a good distance from the ledge to avoid cutting someone who has probably spent the best part of the last month sitting there waiting for that 1 fish. I have been cut off by boats twice at Toma. Little gibber is good, need some patience, as they will just come through at any random time, with little or no action in between. In the bay around Salamander is pretty good at first light. You will see them busting up if they are about. Good luck and have a great week. Cheers Scott
  5. We will be out there mate. Looking at charts the south canyons way looks like the go. 'Chantay' on 21 and keep us informed you you find much. We are going out to 800-1000fa wide of there.
  6. How has port fished the last couple days Damo? I will be up with the family for the weekend and wondering if its worth getting the boat out? Cheers Scott
  7. We used to get plenty of the rocks when shallow gutters and pools on the ledges fill up with the tide. Bit of bread and no sinkers fishing 2ft of water and less. They get right up on top of the ledges on some spots.
  8. If it's your first trip out don't worry about live baiting too much. Just set a nice spread. Bigger lures on the corners and smaller lures on the riggers. Look for bait and work tje area. It may take hours working the bait, but eventually something may come up for a look. Running a 8 or 9" lumo on 1 of your riggers is a must with the stripes around. Good luck,
  9. Fished the 50-70fa yesterday before the southerly cranked up. Found bait between the peak and plonk hole, worked the area for hours for no result. Did'nt go to shelf due to impending southerly. There was a few boats working the same area. We will be out again tomorrow, fishing the shelf out from Botany.
  10. Yeeha! Bring on the beakie's! Top work mate. Random strike or working bait?
  11. For bonnies, try a black magic 1/0 bait jig with a lump of lead on it, chuck it out as far as you can then crank back in flat out. Absolutely deadly. Annoying as he'll when your trying to catch bait. I've caught full strings (6 of em) plenty of times up port Stephens way. You get a few rip the hooks off, but the 1/0 rig handles most bonnies.
  12. No improvement. If everyone just followed the process and moved down the pontoon as you launch there was no need to turn a large boat in there. With boats stacked on both sides of the ramp pontoons I'll bet nothing over 6m will be able to do 180degree turn on the spot with the current changes. Net loss to fisherman and tax payers. I hope I'm wrong!
  13. I still subscribe to seasurfacetemp.com, but I have only recently discovered Rip charts, which is a lot better map, easier to use, and seems to be a bit better with cloud cover. On top of this Rip charts is less than half price than sea surface. Hope fully we can get out early in the week. Good luck out there boys. Cheers Scott
  14. Absolute cracking NSW fish. I was reading waiting for the NZ, or SA location. Awesome work boys.
  15. Good luck out there tomorrow. Only heard of 1 boat with a multiple hook up mid morning. Only a couple of Albies for us. We left at 3.30. A day to day proposition maybe?
  16. Sounds like a good day out there. Any info on water temp or general locality. We will be out tomorrow hoping to break a few blue fin cherries! Love to see the pics of the big girl, nice work. Cheers, Scott
  17. Trying to get out tomorrow or Thursday, but really struggling for a crew. Boats Chantay, centre cab carribean. Will be on 21. Good luck
  18. Starting to wonder if we are going to get a run of fin this year. We are going to have a crack on Wednesday, probably head to that patch SE. Thanks for the report Damo
  19. Any luck boys? Thinking of taking a sicky mid week.
  20. Will we see this thing working the carpark next feb?
  21. Did anyone strike gold today? Thinking about tomorrow but was hoping for some feedback before I enrage my wife and leave the nursery unpainted again!
  22. We fished that temp break on Thursday for 0's. However there was plenty of sauries about and we had fish busting up in the area. We had 1 bite on the cube mid arvo before we had much surface action. I think we will spend a bit more on the troll out there this week. The action can't be far away. Good luck to anyone having a crack out there!
  23. C'mon boys, don't let work get in the road of a good days fishing! Weather looks picture perfect.
  24. Looking for crew on Thursday to take advantage of this weather. Will have a bottom bash ar browns then find a likely spot and cube for 5 or 6 hours. Can't stay until dark as I am working night shift. Currents and water look promising, but you never know. Some experience is essential. Leaving port botany ramp around 6am, back around 6pm. Just PM me if you are interested. Cheers, Scott
