  1. I will be out Monday, and I am finding hard to get crew for weekdays. Let me know if anyone is interested. The limited SST available at the moment looks promising.
  2. Looking for a decky for Monday. Leaving port botany or rose bay boat ramp early, not sure which yet. PM if your interested. Roughly $70 in fuel for a full day (10 hours) I have enough gear but feel free to bring whatever. Regards Scott
  3. Hopefully we can get some clear sky's and get an accurate SST chart. Hoping to get out either Monday or Tuesday myself. As usual, can't get crew midweek.
  4. I was back at the ramp for 11.30. Nothing that really interested me, no bait but water was nice at the shelf. Tomorrow's another day, it will all just happen sooner or later.
  5. Beat the southerly home. Not much out there to keep me out there looking either.
  6. I'll be out. Heading south from botany. Fishing 50-80fa I think at this stage. I'll be on 21
  7. Any one interested in having a look tomorrow early? I will be leaving port botany ramp about 5.30am and at this stage going solo. If anyone wants a ride, let me know. Cheers Scott
  8. I'm looking at fishing Saturday and Sunday up there as well. I think the car park may live up to its name!?
  9. Had a couple of looks mate. Hard to get crew midweek, and hard to get a leave pass on the weekends. Caught no Marlin to get my season started yet, but we did have a brief hook up on a good striper 2 weeks on the shelf in front of Botany. Good luck to all on the hunt over the next few months.
  10. The warm water is here, the fish are not. Been a few big dollies on the troll by the chatter on the radio, and the odd blue out wide. We had 23.3 water at 12 mile yesterday, 21.7 everywhere we went east of the shelf. Warmed up coming back in with current lines everywhere. We got nothing either.
  11. There was stacks of bait in 75-80fthm on Thursday. Found the everywhere I went in that line. From east off the 12 down to east of hacking fad. Found a free swimmer, interestingly only small around that 50kg mark. He was just finning along the surface in glassy conditions on the edge of a large bait area. Not a bait ball, large area. It showed no interest in the lures or the boat, just quietly slinked away the second time I past it. Well done on getting one interested and hooked up. Pretty promising start to the season. How good is the south coast going to fish this summer!
  12. Heading out tomorrow, Thursday 29th. Anyone interested in a quick jig and a long troll text me on 0438361580. Weather looks fantastic. The fishing and the currents??? Well you never know unless you go.
  13. I have not been to sea for a month, but even on these cloudless days, and more often in winter, there is always cloud cover out past the shelf. I don't know, but I'm guessing something to do with warmer water offshore than air temperatures onshore.
  14. I have rip charts and emailed them straight away to let them know that what I signed up for (renewed as I have subscribed for years now) is no longer what they are supplying. I will pay the additional for the year which is a pro rata rate of how much you have left on your subscription. All the decent maps are now in premium. I will be interested to see the navigation function whilst out on the water. Being able to track live where you are on any particular chart. But I have tried fish tracks 15 day trial back in April and found it pretty good. So I don't know which way I'll go, but I am tied to Ripcharts till February.
  15. My best guess is 35nm east of JB on Sunday. That's where a head of cold water is pushing west between the warm eddy down south and that warm eddy of Sydney. I'd be a keen decky if anyone wants a decky down that way. I'm working Saturdays and Sunday my only day off I'm Not towing my boat down there. Just too big a mission
  16. Nope. Heard nothing either. We fished between 500-700 fa from SE Browns to 18nm South of southern canyons. That had us of Wollongong looking at my chart. Few patches of birds down the bottom where we finished with a nice temp break 20.9 to 21.5. Went N and S over that break for 2 hours for 0. Better out there than at work all day wondering what's going on out there. Every day is different, good luck tomorrow if your out there
  17. We will be out there. Southern canyons and beyond. We will be monitoring Ch 21. Good luck and happy hunting
  18. Good luck on weekend boys. Hoping to hear some reports, as after a month of crap weather, I think there is a lot of us trailer boat game fishers keen to have a crack next week.
  19. RDO on Monday. We will be out there. Hopefully some reports from the Hacking 100 will come through on the weekend
  20. New boat looks pretty awesome mate. Good Luck tomorrow.
  21. It's a subscription SST website. Cheere
  22. Looking at rip charts, should be running down hill pretty hard and around 23-24 degree. But you never know until you go. Wish I was going out but can't raise a crew.
  23. Looking at rip charts from yesterday we have the warm waters within reach of us once again. 23.5 inside Browns according to the chart I was looking at. Now if we can just get the weather to play ball, a late season blue could be on the cards, just when we were all thinking Marlin season had passed!
  24. I've been using Aftco roller trollers for 3 seasons now with only good to report. My outriggers lay at around 60 degree to the boat so there is that tiny bit of line to drop back on a strike. Thought this would affect the hook up rate, but no noticeable misses on Blues,Blacks BFT, YFT or the Albacore. The Stripers are a different story however. In a trailer boat with limited vision of the spread they allow adjustment of your lures with no hassles. Wind them in, drop them back. Too easy, if slightly lazy.
  25. Fished Monday. Worked an area holding bait on the shelf East of plonk hole for 2 hours for 0. Went wide to 500fa and only had a temp rise of 0.4 to 22.5 out there. Went north in that line for 3 hours for 0. Heard the storm Warning and ran home flat out in a beautifully flat ocean. Nothing heard on the radio from anyone else out either. Hope it improves but the SST is not looking too promising. Cheers Scott
