You live at bondi, there is no better ledges in the east than Ben buckler. You can get all the squid you can manage there as well. Then there is a low ledge north side of clovelly and the Beerie, below waverly cemetey produces at times. All require cleats and a fishing buddy. Baits can be caught at all of these spots. As with all rock fishing, pick your days. McKenzies produces a few as well. The more Productive ledges to the south around maroubra get crowded, and the cliffs at south Coogee have produces plenty of rats over summer on top of the shallow reef.
  2. Great photo's. That looks wickedly wild on the Sunday. Congrats to crew.
  3. Any news from day 1? Working all weekend so chomping at the bit to get out!
  4. Forgot to mention, leave from port botany ramp
  5. Am looking to get out Monday. Need a decky with some experience and does not get sea sick. Fishing out of a 26ft carribean custom centre cab, diesel. Reports are not good, but you can't wait for reports, just have to have a look for yourself. 10 hours on the water is around 100lt of diesel. weather should be good.
  6. Not much up here at the momment, but is it worth the price of flights to Tas yet for the blue barrels? Msut be about the right time of year? Cheers
  7. Left port Botany ramp in the fog, put the lures out just before the shelf, pulled up at Browns for a couple of quick drops, then kept trolling. Nice temp break 2 miles east of browns23.9 to 24.6. Nothing in it for us. Went east to 1000fa line, south for a couple of hours, back in west towards southern canyons, back up towards Browns, then west to the shelf. 0-0-0 for the day. Warm 24.5 water inside the shelf, did anyone fish this patch? We had a 11.5hr day for our zeros, and the current at browns was screaming, we were drifting at 2.5kn into a light southerly breeze. That's fishin!
  8. Rough as guts out there Sunday. We trolled back from broken bay around the 50fth line as a sea sick crew was not prepared to slug it out to the shelf. Pulled the hooks on a smallish stripe off long reef. Pretty glad to get back to botany and dry off!
  9. It was a black. Found it on the sounder. Took 40 mins to raise it, took 500m of line. Was stool peeling line when it popped up greyhounding 20 meters to our starboard. Quality fish in the 120 to 150 mark. Let's all hope Sydney keeps turning it on for the next 5 months
  10. 5-4-2 for the day. Sydney is really turning it on, spotted 2 separate free jumpers that day. Thanks for the invite. Good luck with your new addition.
  11. I will be out of Sydney this weekend having a poke about. Fished the Whitesands last Friday for 4 3 1 on the Tuna. They were busting up on sauries at a million miles an hour down there. Pretty frustrating to watch.
  12. On Saturday night a couple of drop kicks failed in relieving me of my boat. I did'nt hear them mucking around hooking her up, but when they dropped her off the tow ball it woke the whole neighbourhood up. The boat weighs 2.7tonne and rolled back around 5 metres kinda out towards the middle of my street. This was in a quiet suburban street in Kingsford. So be vigilant people, I am now looking for a marina with dry storage for boats, anyone know of any in Sydney?
  13. Shnieder 15kg lays up beautifully on an Alvey and has great abrassion resistance and heaps of give for locking up on solid Pigs.
  14. Top effort. Is there anything a plastic cannot catch?
  15. A nice little push of water from the blue beyond is cruising into our patch of coast line. Who know's what's in it.
  16. Could use an extra hand for a troll on the shelf tomorrow. Leaving Foreshore drive, Botany, around 6.30. Should only cost about $50 for fuel. Call me, Scott, on 0438361580.
  17. What water temp are these Tuna in? Looking to go for a run on Sunday. Boat has not been wet since November. Cheers
  18. The only time the Marlin fishermen catch Longtails is when they are busting up around the marina up there and someone is quickly out with a popper.
  19. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Could the Longtails have by-passed the North Coast and landed down here in our waterway's??
  20. Nice one boys. Thank you all. Cheers
  21. Thanks for the info. Just one more question, where are they at? Cheers
  22. Does anyone know where I can get some tagline returns/wieghts from? Seem to only be able to find them in kits. Cheers
  23. Dude, There is heaps of fish where you are going! Ben Buckler I take it. There is a few well know spots North of there, ( won't take much effort into figuring how to get down there), but I think you are misssing the key to rock fishing. Casting is someting you do with metals( something I highly reccomend), or other lures. Fishing baits off the rocks is holding as tight to the edge of the rock your standing on as you dare.Lose heaps of gear but the fish are close. This is not a cast the rod and sit it down, you gottat work your gear, in,out, down, and around. More fish than you can think of in the first 2 feet
