  1. Hey Narges, Just got your message mate, Ill get back to you later on this arvo Cheers, Mitch
  2. HI Mate, Depending on what your chasing, the lake is on fire at the moment, althought the water has chilled and fish moved they are biting like rabbid dogs. I got into them a few weeks back but a good mate that lives on the lake has been chasing bream and flatties with good success and some big ones to boot. Throw into the mixh bycatch of Jew and big tailor and its all good. Good luck. Ill be up the lake tomorrow afternoon depending on what time i get out of the offfice and hope to get out for a late arvo bream / jewie session. Will let you know how it turns out If your after particular spots, ill happily PM some your way Mitch
  3. ill be fishing wisemans tomorrow for jew and bream and i guess you add in an almost evident EP. not too early but will be at ramp next to waterways jetty at -830. If any anyone wants to come and join please feel free. I am fishing solo as usual but am always happy to have company. Give me a call either tonight or in the morning before 0900. I will be close to the ramp for the first couple of hours if you see this in the morning and wish to join Mitch
  4. myself and a good mate of mine put together a lot of footage of our outings anout 50houd worht and we were lucky enough to pick up a compsny to sponsor and turn it into s DVD. should hit the shops in about a month or so. This one is mainly bream jew and absoloute XOS meter plus lizardds on light gear including a 13kg Jew caught as bycatch on the south coast using 2lb platypus superbraid and 4lb stealth leader. on top of this we have another one in the making which is much broader and includes winter plastic snapper to 12kg as well as barra and a host of other species we target in the "cooler" months from mallacoota to forster. We are currently gathering footsge for our next edition which will just blow lure fisherman away which includes my mates "Fluke" south coast 2.64kg bream in an overgrown looking set of racks...yes i said 2.64kg. this is a monster and a very welsome fish in anyones booked. its seen on tape milling by a post then you can see the lure land next to it and wll the rest is history I would be more than happy to pass you on top the company in question if this is what your looking for. otherwise I have some good software which will prob do if its more of a hobby/ something to do Mitch
  5. yes well the leccy is definatly working so If any raiders are around the wisemans area tomorrow fell free to stop and say g'day. Ill be the one working the deep points in the pinkish bass boat Mitch
  6. Tomorrow ill be heading down to wisemans to see if a can get hold of a jew or 2 and chase a few bream, that is if I can put my leccy back together properly. Still playing up si ive taken it apart and THINK i have it working. Sat I will probably get out for a quick morning session or head down to the boat show and get back and get stuck into some around the house work Sunday Off to pick up the missus from the airport and have a quite day MItch
  7. Apart from my usual bream chasing I will be definatly casting more for Jew and XOS Lizards in the coming month. Probably get back up to Glenbawn if I get a chance as I love Bass In August as well MItch
  8. If you have bo boat then a good spot to flick lures is around woy woy ferry wharf, this place consistantly produces bream , jew and EP's. Also if you can get around the woy woy bridge, this is a good spot . umina sand flats fish very well all year round. although there very clear water there are some great bream to be had as well as the ever faithful flatty. at the right time salmon, big chops and hthe occasional king will also chase bait through this area. I find a natural/ clear coloured placcy or shrimp pater HB work well around this area. Good luck and I hope you get into em Mitch
  9. yeh im the same as icedude, whilst fishing the bay on sunday I picked up a handful of them with one elbow slapper added in there mitch
  10. HI my name is mitch and i am addicted to plastics...... I have the same problem and it all started about 8 years ago when placcies hit our shores in a big way. I have been uxing them for lizards for a lot longer nut nream bass and jew for about the last 8 years. I was down going through the new boat that i look like buying today and being close to a local tackle shop, decided to stop in. 15 blades later and 13 packets of placcies later i was satisfied. Its more of an addiction than a hobby, but we only live once so what the heck, theres only so many things to enjoy in life so take them for gratid and enjoy at will I would hate to even begin to think of the thounsands of bucks that i have spent on plastics etc over the years. I have always been lucky enough to have rod and line sponsorships so that has worked in my favour but i reckon i have made up on it in lures. Jig heads are just as bad. I make a lot of my own in ball, minnow and hidden weight systems but i would at any given time have no less than 500 of each of my usual sizes and weights in there dedicated boxes. it adds up but where fisherman and this is what we love to do Mitch

    Disgraceful

He was going to just leave it but decided to get it out of the water instead. would have been hard to explain to fisheries if you were pulling it up though. He was able to release 2 of the fish back to the water but the rest were all gonners. Mitch

    Disgraceful

On my way to Berowra this morning I was taking to a mate of mine and fellow fishraider and he was telling me about when he was on Berowra a couple of weeks ago...... Whilst fishing he caught a net. Now i automatically pictured somebodys landing net until he said he hauled it into his boat which took about an hour and it was around 60-70m long. there were about a dozen jewies in there, big flathead and a host of others. He did the right thing and rang fisheries and they took it off his hands. What a shame that there are people out there still doing things like this. honestly i think it is a total discgrace and I hope they end up catching the person who set it Mitch
  14. well my day didn't quite start out the way i planned it. Decided to launch at Berowra which is only about 30-40 minute run fom my place and gives good access to where i wanted to fish. Got half way up Anangrove roar when i heard a noise and all of a suden felt my trailor lag and favour the left side. Pulled over and my suspicions were confirmed... Blown tyre. Game my mate Ross a call who lives nearby and he ahd a spare at his house..lucky Got on the water and yep my leccy would not respond so i decided to drift with the wind and tide and work the banks. I was fishing 35mm Ecogear Blades and landed 2 nice fish around 30cm in the first 5 casts. I started to get a bit annoyed with the leccy so I gave it a good 'ol boot and believe it or not it started to work fine and stayed that way for the rest of the day. I headed off to my destination and started working the deeper rockwalls with a lot of success. Bream were hitting the deck in quick succession. I decided to fish blades and only blades to get myself used to them. I was not dissapointed. I worked rock walls boat hulls and pontoons. All holding fish. The quality of the fish were really good and i was suprised at the amount that I got considering the howling winds, cold water and intermittent rain. I ended up with 31 bream for the session all legals too which was a bonus. Kept the best 5 for the scales which came down to 4.26kg. I was pretty happy with that. I took a pic of the bigger 2 on my phone and will post them up when i can. Big bream for the day went a respectable 1.22kg. Ecogear 35mm in blacky colour with orange bottom did most of the damage with the TT switchblade in Gold Noggin accounting for the biggest fish. Not a lot of bycatch. A couple of choppers and thats it. About 330 the weather closed in with terrible winds and the rain had set in good so It was time to head home. So a shocker of a start but a happy ending Mitch
  15. it can definatly br a touch and go type place at times. It WAS quite today. I only managed a handful from spots that usually produce there fair shair. Come mid august it should start to fire up a bit (according to my past experience). Where abouts were you fishing around?? Mitch
  16. True, The boat needed a good run. I just hope this weather holds up tomorrow. showers with costal wind warnings and cold inland winds. Heading down to berowra for sure now. Would not like to be on pitty or MH tomorrow i don't think Mitch
  17. Great Red. That is a true bruiser, Congrats
  18. G'day Raiders, Just a quick report, not all that exciting unfortunatly. I had to drop the missus at the airport this morning at the beautiful hour of 0530. I figured if i had to drive all the way there i would be towing the boat and having a bit of a flick. On the water at about 0600 and it was freezing. I wasn't game enough to start the main motor so just leccied my way to the first bridge. Just as the sun was coming up i was starting to cast. Second cast with a blade and i had number 1 in the well. not a monster but around early 30's. a couple more tiddlers from this bridge and that was about it. decided to move to some of my more usual haunts. Picked up a couple more bream, still nothing of great size. after about 45 mins of not a lot of action i hooked up solid as the beautiful ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound and ......catchya. another jewie does me over. ya get that. Have been lucky enough to get quite a few in the same spot over the last couple of months. Moved out into the bay and the conditions were great, damn cold at full noise across the bay though. Pretty quite out there so decided to putt around watching the sounder for any action. Came across about 5-6 big schools of fish but unfortunatly they all turned out to be Tailor. a couple of larger models came onboard and the usual bite offs. Also managed to pick up a couple of bream and trevors underneath the choppers. So there it is. A bit quite but still got into a few. Sorry no pics this time, too damn cold to work the camera and well nothing really that exciting. Was planning to hit middle harbour tomorrow but hace settled on Berowra for another freezing morning. Hope tomorrows report has a bit of action Mitch
  19. Quite one on Saturday. Sunday I have to drop the missus to the airport at 0530 so will be towing the boat down there and probably hit the cooks and duck out into botany. The other plan is to hit the parra for a breamin session. Most probably the cooks as theres not as much moving between spots which means less chance of freezing my nuts off MItch
  20. Will do mate. Not sure what the plan is yet but ill definatly let you know Mitch
  21. Fishing or drinking in the bourburn tourny???? Yep ill be there. Should be a pretty good turn out from what i hear. Are you going to get there?? Not sure who im fishing with as yet Mitch
  22. Ok So I have decided to give myself a much needed week off work next week. I was originally heading up to visit some family up at Townsville and get out to peter Faust for a few Barra but decided to send the missus up there instead so I can stay and get on the water. Ill be on the water most days. I know ther were a couple of guys that wanted to come out for a flick so If you have some time to fish let me know either here or via PM and im more than happy to have you on board Mitch
  23. I run 2 deep cycle batteries for the leccy and another large batter for the main. A stand alone and also a Cranking battery. I have a 3 way switch so I can charge on the go and switch between batteries at will. Also have an onboard charger which makes charging at the end of the session simple as well. What lake are you fishing?? Mitch
  24. Come on Andrew you know I couldn't do something like that, I like to stand out too much The down side of the bright colour is that I have had to change my breming style so they din't see me coming the deck is completely flushed now with no recessed food pedal up the front Should catch up on the water one day mate Cheers, Mitch
  25. Nice work. Looking forward to the finidhed product. There is so much you can do with older ski hulls etc. I have an old 4.5m pride hull that was converted to a bass boat. Currently has a 70hp on it but just about to be upgraded to 115hp. Some of the specs that were added: positive flotation large front deck with 2x 7' lockable rod lockers, safety gear storage, batterage storage and large lockable tackl compartment. Side console with gauges rear casting deck with fully plumbed 3 way 90l livewell and 2 tackle compartments Underfloor 70l fuel tank other extras that have been added are front casting deck and helm sounders, GPS, leccy etc. As I said there are so many thing you can do with older hulls. I am pretty soon going to buy a nice new rig (Skeeter ZX200???) but am looking for an older hull to deck out as well. Ill see if i can add a couple of pics. Hope it all comes together for you, looking forward to seeing the finished product Mitch (ps. a couple of changes have been made since these pics, but it gives you an idea)
