  2. Top pics, looks like a lot of fun, how much do yo reckon the Fin weighed?? Mitch
  3. 30lb, nice jew. Ive heard of a few jew coming from that general area lately, not a lot of bigger ones but a few schoolies.
  4. Hey guys....$700 not 1k. 1k is a big difference in bucks and sounders. I personally run a Garmin sounder / GPS on the helm and a 400c Garmin up the bow. I am very happy with mine. I do a lot of deep water breaming and deepish structure orientated bream / bass fishing and honestly would not have near the catch rate as i do without my sounders. I have previously had lowrance and they are great too. It all comes down to personal choice and what suits you and your style of fishing. good luck with the purchase.
  5. NIce work Andrew, good to see you out there and to see the bream are no at the Basin, cheers, Mitch

  9. The clyde is a brilliant fishery with great options. I regularly fish it few bream and jew and there are an abundance. yes it can be tough like all waterways but theres plenty of fish to go around. outside the river proper there are great options including snapper over the gravel beds, kingies and some great rock platforms. good luck with the house and the fishing. i have some good mates down there that are on the water most days and would be hhappy to take you out on the water to get you started Mitch
  10. ill prob b down in about 4 weeks, ill let you know when im there hodgey, the bream should be startin to fire (and those shiney jew...), should meet up on the water for a flick Mitch Hoges, a recent report i go was The drop off out from taylors o a rising tide has been the undoing of some big lizards and occasional jew,and as allways tailor as usual. also unweighted stickbsits (bassminnow / fireminnows) over the weedbeds work well o the bream too MItch
  11. NIce work Tommy, the betts spins have been nailing a few around windsor as well. I have been attaching a wriggler tail and smearing it in S factor for best results. Hope you get some more MItch

  14. Thanks Fellas, Yeh the young fella was pretty damn excited about his fish. he's got a pretty wild "lift shake drop techniqe" going on. Thats what he calls it any way. Took him down to one of the lagoons the other day and he hooked himself a huge carp. I have a couple of pics which ill chuck up once i get the camera off the missus. Looking forward to getting back own there Hodgey, I miss the south coast stuff, used to live in Narooma. Catch up soon iceman, we'll have to get out and slay 'em. Mitch
  15. ONly been out a few times over the last few weeks due to work and family commitments unfortunatly. On the positive side the fishing has been very productive with some good catches coming in. Been fishing mainly the Hawks system from Berowra to Spencer and up around Wisemans to lower portland. Most bream falling to small blades in the deep and 3 - 4" stickbaits. Been getting a lot of surface boofs and enquires but not all that aggresive as yet. Hope to get down to my old south coast haunts around Narooma and Tuross soon for a flick. Some big EP's have been falling to Jigging grubs and stickbaits also. On top of this managed to get my young fella out for a couple of fish. Caught his first lizard on a plastic after dropping 2 previous fish. He hooked up solid on a fish that hit hard and i offered a hand but mr inderpendant wouldn't let me help and unfortunatly lost this one. I have a couple of picks, will post some more up shortly when i get them off the other camera. Cheers, Mitch Having trouble attaching pics. Can I email them to somebody to upload for me?? A couple of pics

    Ben Chifley

Chiffley fishes well for most off the year if you can locate the fish. I have had a lot of success fishing deep jigged plastics in the gulp (grubs) and squidgy wrigglers. also Ecogear vt55 and jackal TN60 have accounted for some big fish out of there. also worth a try is the far bank to the left of the ramp. The weed there comes out a fair way and there are alway cruising fish on the edges. good luck and i hope you get into them MItch

    Minn Kotas

hey Greg, im running a kota on my boat atm. 4 foot pedals in a year...hhhmmmmm there crap!!! IN the past i have had a few issues with the motorguides and didn't take a liking to them. Although, after playing with the new wireless motorguide with AP i am sold. These things are brilliant. The footpedal is easy and by far the most responsive of any leccy i have used. Also very easy to deploy and a damn good price Mitch

    Braid

HI Luke, In reply to your question regarding Plartypus sinking braid. Firstly i will say that I am sponsored by Platypus, I am not plugging one of my sponsores but simply answering a members questions. I have been using Platypus super braid for a number of years now and was lucky enough to be trialing the 2lb gear long before it came out on the market. In regards to the Platypus sinking braid, I personally love the stuff. I have 5 reels spooled with it that I use nearly every outing and most of my breaming and native reels if not on main spool always have it on a spare spool. I have had great success using it on the deeper rockawalls and reefs in the Hawksburry and other systems. for breaming i am using it on 1-3kg rods and it has added to the deep water sensitivity immensly. So far I am yet to have any issues with line fluffiing, wind knots, etc and those who know me would know that i love to absoloutly thrash my gear when testing it out. I have thrashed this line to and past its limits and it still holds up. The bright red colour makes it easily visable and when under water starts to fade away. feel fre to ask any other questions and i will be happy to answer them the best i can thanks, Mitch
  21. NIce work on the Brown, Sure is one healthy (fatass) trout. Congrats Mitch
  22. Nice work On the fish mate. Great pics too. THats a thumper EP. in regards to the trebles, i like to take the standards off and put #12 owners on instead, but yep they cop a hiding. Nice work Mitch
  23. I am now a big fan of the Koolas. Have been giving them a lot of work lately. I have found that on my last couple of outings that they have outfished other blade ttypes with the Eco models coming in close second. I have heard reports of quite a few jew being taken on them as well I would recommend taking the trebles off and replacing with Owner 12's Mitch
  24. IN the metal vibes it would have to be the bluegill pattern Ecogear followed by the black TT and Gold noggin. Redfin type pattern in the ecogear VT55 range Blugill pattern in the Kangoku Jackall TN50 in HL Black And ghost wakasagi (i think). Koolabung, not really fussed in the colour range they all work a treat Mitch
  25. NIce pics Codfisho, I see your from Orange. I used to live out there. I think the missus got some good pics of the snow yesterday. Ill see if I can post em up, sure was a lot of it and im glad I was here in Sydney MItch
