hey Pappy1, I had a similar problem with my gps a while back and it turned out to be the connecting pin in the back of the gps, it was a little squashed from plugging and unplugging (removing from boat after fishing trips). I just used a bait needle to open all the pin's and never had the problem since. They looked fine but must not have been getting 100% connection. Give that ago.. Benny..

Na dunc333, But when unbloted it fell off very easy, It used to spray water up over the engine Cause it wasnt low enough and used to slap the water and was 200+kgs. There was alot of water and mold behind it so water must have been getting inbetween.. The new one is 10x's better and follows the shape of the hull like a pod should do..

Hi all, After 3 yrs of owning my reef runner and had it podded by someone who thought they could build pods. I just had a new custom pod done and trim tabs fitted as well as having the hard top lifted, the blue strip repainted. All i have left to do is reinstall the 200hp optimax when this rain stops. Hi Adzzy. I usually run for minimum 10mins. I normally wash the boat then while im unpacking i run the engine then when ive finished i turn it off. I dont use anything other then water. just have to keep an eye on ya temp gauge. then when i park the boat up, i take the cowl off and hose the whole engine then let it dry then spray inox or quicksilver lube stuff over everything. from top to prop.. Ive let alot of Trevallie go around east hills over the year's. After catching them in botany bay. And have also caught a few at east hills as well. So its good to see there a hardy fish and the river must be fairly good for them to live up here.. Cheers Benny..

Thanks for that, I have seen that pinned post and contributed to it. From what i can gather channels 72,73 and 77 are the only real channels we can use that are not safety channels?? If so why dont more people use these channels?? And set one as a regular chat channel. So that everyones kept happy.. Benny..

Hey everyone, I was just wondering what vhf channel everyone uses, I monitor channel 21 which i thought was a chat channel, But its come to my attention that where not really aloud to use it as its a coast guard and a gamefishing club comp channel, ( i'v heard people telling others to get off and they haven't been nice about it/ And the broken bay repeater say's where not suppose to use it). So im wondering if there is a channel off sydney that is a chat channel??. Cause i really cant see the point of people getting the certificate to use vhf if theres no channel they can use. But its a good idea to learn how to use your radio. But its legal to use vhf to contact coast guard. Im not trying to start a debate or people. Just wondering?? Or is there a free channel on vhf that we can all start using like 94 on 27mg's. (mod's if you think this topic will start trouble by all means remove it). Cheers Benny..

Thanks guys for the comments, I would have been over the moon if we could have hooked that marlin. But better i didnt means i still have to go back and catch it.. lol. Mc fishn it was coral spaw and weed all mixed together, the only down fall was kept hooking the weed as well. DGF your time will come. Herbmozo yeah i was over the moon. As you could hear on the movie after it came in the boat. Hey mike how'd ya go with the boat all fixed yet??. Iv been fishing serious for 7 years now and gamefishing for 3, And only now i have caught these fish, Im yet to even catch a jew fish. Never caught on at all, Iv fished for them but everytime something either brakes of theres no fish. lol. Hopefully back out there this weekend to see if we can find another few. Went out on tuesday aswell but didnt turn a reel, had to hits on the lures (in 23.8 degrees) but nothing. And water temp on browns was 24.5 degrees and the more east ya went the hotter it got found 25.4 was the hottest. 23.6 i found just inside the shelf.

Hey guys headed out last saturday for a fin fish. Had a hook up just before browns but pulled the hooks, So kept trolling east of browns hooked up on the short corner. After a 25min fight in comes my first yellowfin. . 22.5kg (weighed). Kept trolling for another 2 hours for nothing. So headed south on the way found a current line full of sea weed, All rods go off, Dollies. So kept 8 dollie, Biggest 93cm's. While all this was happening there was a marlin swimming around just looking. Pulled the lures past him a few time but nothing. On the 3rd run he lite up and swam at the lurs but swam under and off he went. Left there and headed home doing 25knotts. The trip home was a beautiful day. Home by 3pm. Cheers Benny.. Anakiwa/Bender.
