Last weekend and boy what a weekend it was and a sad one too,, my boat sold but had one last fish in it with a friend. Went too a few reefs off sydney got some good snapper just on dusk,,back into Bobbin Head for the night and a BBQ on the beach,, few spins and baits for some good bream,, Up early so tossed out a livey for a Jew while having a and some brekky . me too busy as usual to worry about a little tap tap on the line so my mate has a look see and bam away all hell breaks loose,eyes lit up Jewie 15 minutes into the fight first site out 20 meters bugger not a jew looks like a shovel nose few more minutes in bit closer maybe port jackson damn few curse words Mate says feels like a flathead the way its tugging me nah cant be too big has to be shark , couple more minutes get a better look down deep mate think its a flathead still bit pi***y nah shovel nose [ In my books when fishing if its big its been a shark ] Few more minutes its coming up F**************k me guess what CATFISH LMFAO,, Nah sorry you would not believe the size of this flathead, all this and didnt take any pics too excited. Anyways we composed ourselves went back to the beach which was only a few meters back , gave him or her a measure ,, had only a old spring scale Took some pics but only on a shi**ty mobile sorry guys,, One came out I wanted to take him home and stuff him but we let him go,, now i hold my regards to Bobbin Head as a promising big Flathead grounds up their with Lake Conjola and my good old Wallis Lakes Sorry did i forget the Measurements and weight Any one want to take a guess at the length and weight Bye the way Mate is 185cm will let you know wednesday Or maybe if you want to make it a competition say two prizes one for closest length and for weight Prize of some fishing dvds [backups] Mods if allowed will put in a new thread tomorrow ??? some pics

Just found this on a news site,what a fish would rival any jewie or yellowfin in my boat,, but thinking bigger boat Quote Fishers in northern Thailand netted this huge catfish in the Mekong River on May 1. Nearly nine feet long (2.7 meters) and as big as a grizzly bear, the behemoth tipped the scales at 646 pounds (293 kilograms). Experts say the fish, which belongs to the species known as the Mekong giant catfish, may be the largest freshwater fish ever recorded.

Have often caught bream on banana peel,, also was at Nelsons Bay one year 2 mates to prove it have caught 2 pinkies on 1 hook both through the lip

Mate dont know much of those spots but one of the best is at Whale beach called the ovens, you need a little bit care of climbing down the rock face but is not too bad . Huge fish caught not too many landed though . Other not to bad is Norah Head Lighthouse some good safe rock platforms hope this helps matey

Roberta is right take the failford rd also is much quicker with a boat aprox 25 min past the lakes way the way is beautifull scenery but very winding and steep

Look on ebay for the fishfinder sect Bonza imports has a site their and have them for around $1200 including all duties and taxes but if you can buy under $1000 taxes dont come into it and safe. been thinking of getting the Navman 6600 for around $900 from them,Also have pmd buyers who have bought from them and rated them highly and recieved within a week but still have to be carefull

Yeah the weather is not so good but when it stops dont you think that all the entrances will be firing especially Flint and steel , i reckon in a week or so things will be hotting up if the weather settles a bit Nice maps netic often wondered what browns looked like

Thinking of going out for a beach fish say one saturday arvo around 4PM to 10PM, looking at maybe Few tracks up from the Entrance inlet or not a bad spot on Budgewoi Beach some great catches of salmon and tailor and the odd Jewie turn up at times. Anyone interested in a day doesnt matter which weekend if we can organise a group or just yourself more than welcome more the merrier

Am going for a trip up north as well in October for a couple of weeks, going to try Moreton bay anywhere around Hervey Bay and dropping into Awoonga as well to check out the Barra so will hope for the best all the best on your trip Tunofun

Hey boofhead mate we must be twins, havent had it in the water yet is bit hard to start but when warmed up starts first kick but dont think would chance it on the water till get everything sorted with the engine .The motor came with it with the spare 85 hp for parts so dont know if its to heavy for it or knot, the sticker rating max hp is worn and cant read it Have you done anything to the lower wash transom area Bait tanks under floor storage etc. Year lurespinner was good price so couldnt let it slip bye misses bit as already doing one up in the garage now just finished painting ready for fitout cheers

Just bought a 4.5 Mtr Half Cab Sundance Classic so cheap couldnt resist $1125 has 105 motor on the back [85hp cover] runs bit rough needs a good service but boat seems be great condition well clean anyway has all tilt &trim new navman finder Few questions like to ask Anybody know what make the hull is ?? Also on the starter motor armature wire keeps coming off,, have soldered it on a few times but keeps coming off after a few turn overs and then little smoke gets fairly hot which i think is melting the solder Is their another reason maybe its coming off or geting hot i know the soldering is fairly strong

No you cant copy them but if you buy a card which i think in turn gives you a code of the area you want and unlocks that area,, and maybe might be able to help to unlock the rest of the card for most areas depends on which card you have most gold cards have this option

If camping is it a pay site also to use showers etc, one more question i heard you must get a permit to fish the lake is this right??
