Hi all planning a fishing trip to Qld for 2 weeks in need of a few good spots to check out, Am heading to Hervey Bay for a wedding then at least 10 days of fishing . Will be checking out Moreton Bay and at least 2 days at Lake Awoonga near Gladstone to try for those big barra, never fished for them befor and i guess will be the only chance i get for quite awhile . Has any one fished their ?? any good spots and tips for fishing their or how to find barra

Ahh now where talking have been fishing forster for 35 years and actually going theirnext weekend 3RD Feb for a week ,,not like the good old days for blackfish now boys best fished 287 fish in 7 days between 3 of us Grandparents and I that is . They stuffed the lake when they dredged it years and years ago great for Flatties though Would love to go see though as dont get much time off and planning a big fishing trip to QLD in October so may not get the time off , use the Great lake carravan park at tuncurry cheap 20 feet from the lake and boat ramp or just tie it up on the wall Ps for the weed goto halidays point ,,Blackhead beach little canal at the end of the park will get bin loads cheers

Hi all my name is John a Panel Beater by trade in Hornsby area ,,no wonder i love fishing as i hate cars , I am married 47 with a 16 year old who are better at fishing than i am these days Grew up fishing Wallis Lakes Forster since 5 with the grandparents avid blackfisherman most fish caught in 2 weeks between 2 of us was just over 200 quite a few years ago now, lucky to get just a few now. Wife 8 bream not so long ago on Hawksbury [has been posted befor ] fishing over her sholder eating a sandwhich 3 of over a kilo in under 1hr ,still wont let me forget Cheers all and hope to get to the socials when warmer

Best place i know on finding green weed and i mean lots of it is in the little canal just befor Halidays Point Beach [blackhead] never failed getting bucket loads, not too much around sydney anymore

Hi all just wondering if any of you have done some fishing or heard of any good spots around Russell Island in Moreton Bay QLD mainly prefur protected waters as only have a 12 ft tinnie .Also any maps to be found of the wateways around this area on the net ?? . Leaving early march thanks in advance

Met my first raider last weekend Knapers and headed up the Hawksbury but nothing but small stuff but a good relax .Bit of a laugh though forgetting the petrol tank and then running out of petrol in the car on the way home ,one of those days i guess

Hi all am new to the forum I am john from Hornsby area had me a little fishing trip about 3 weeks ago to the Hawksbury river with the wife best day out in years well it was for her Damn woman Anyways tryed the old spot near the road bridge got their just befor lunch just using good old prawns boats around us coming and going didnt see anyone catch anything except for a small flatty in the few hours we were their sorry for the build up Do you know how many fish she caught 8 bream and 3 were the biggest bream that i have seen in person caught ,,Largest 1.2kg blue nose she caught this while rod on shoulder eating a sandwich others yellofin 2 at 1.04 kg ,1 at 920 gr all the rest just legal size Now for me in the same boat mind you i got 1 flatty just over size ,a tailor or was it bait and the most amazing port jackson was only small but was shimmering gold color and black stripes would of looked fantastic in a aquarium Do you know what the worst thing about it all ? I STILL HERE ABOUT IT Also mate caught a 20 kg cobia off the rocks at nelsons bay last saturday will try and post up his pic its a beauty Hope i didnt bore or rave to much and maybe will meet and have a yarn or a fish one day cheers johno
