  1. Awesome report My parents are also Dutch though I was born here in aus Unfortunately my dutch is very limited as we never spoke it at home we did however go back to live in holland when I was 9 for about 2yrs where I fished in the canals around Spykenisse just south of Rotterdam We caught a variety of fish Snoek(we used a small fish with bright red fins for live bait) Baars and Brasum(not sure if this is the correct spelling) using mainly bread or worms for bait under floats Very similar setup as you would use for luderick here I wont visit my mother unless she makes ollieballen
  2. ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON. HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND," WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS.* BUT JUST BEFORE HE RE-ENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK, "GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY". MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGH IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT. HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO GORSKY IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS. OVER THE YEARS MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TO WHAT THE 'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY' STATEMENT MEANT, BUT ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED. ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY , FLORIDA , WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH, A REPORTER BROUGHT UP THE 26-YEAR-OLD QUESTION TO ARMSTRONG. THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED. MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT HE COULD NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION. IN 1938, WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MID-WESTERN TOWN , HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACKYARD. HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THEIR BEDROOM WINDOW. HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY. AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY, "SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON!" TRUE STORY!
  3. Lead head mould? I will ring Hooky tonight about it and set something up
  4. There is no pic of the blade colour its something I thought of that could work based on baitfish colours Have you thought of making the blades about a third smaller?
  5. Yep when I can even won one back in january A fishing club from around Penrith had a social comp on in the bay One of the tournie guys in Brisbane does custom paint jobs on lures and no they are painted not combined as far as I know Could you do a metalic silver with an olive back and red gills Its a colour scheme I want to try on some of breambuckets vibes Ive only caught bream on lobbies using them as a surface lure by chopping the tail off and rigging them on a resin head The way I tried is to cut the arms off and rig them on a hidden weight jighead Outboard went great amazing what new fuel new plugs and cleaning the fuel filter will do Chris Webber memorial classic was on in the basin on saturday
  6. I usually do ok in the Hacking you need to fish it light and during the week Its just on a full moon you need to fish the afternoons Neil doesnt know anything about limps yet I heard about it from some tournie guys and that was the first time I tried it Should work well at Towra but the trevs seem to like them
  7. Hit Port Hacking this morning for a couple of hours mainly to see how my outboard was going after previously playing up Happy to say it started first pull everytime Hung around Burraneer Bay till I was confident with the outboard for not even a touch fished pontoons and boat hulls Finally decided to head over to a favorite flat even though it doesnt fish well on the full moon in the morning Still managed a few small trevally and flatties on LIMPS(nickname given to squidgy lobbys with the dangly bits cut off and rigged from the head to look like a prawn)rigged on a hidden weight jighead Saw plenty of good bream in the clear water but couldnt get them interested in the limp so I decided to change to my favorite lure for that area even though I only had one left and they are near imposible to get a Tiemco stick minnow colour 007 First cast nice 30cm tarwhine second cast saw a big bream take it in clear view zzzzz ting(insert swear words)bream took the lure head first and the 4lb leader parted Tied on a berkely subdog fast becoming a favorite lure as it has performed well down in the basin for not even a touch Tried a few other lures for nothing and packed up and went home Now on a mission to get some subdogs sent away to be repainted in the stick minnow colour
  8. Some great bass there Stewy and crew Heard similar reports from a mate in a skeeter called twitchin up there plenty of bass on natural coloured spinnerbaits
  9. Great session Rob Some nice flatties there Nitros and TTs are very good jigheads but squidgy jigheads are good as well for fish with soft mouths
  10. Definately a GT and a good one
  11. Have you thought about getting rods in and out of the rod locker The center consol may be in the way May be better having the rod locker in the port side storage compartment
  12. No worries Is it only flatties you want? Should be able to get bream whiting and maybe trevally I usually dont use any heavier than 5gm
  13. I reckon it would kill me even more If he hasnt got a boat he will probably fish with Jason in the SSBS which means I may have to look for a teammate with a boat as mine isnt big enough
  14. Yeah Neil told me about the flattie The skeeter is up for sale to make way for a new one Neil could be without a boat for a while
  15. Nice catch Pete Thats a good bag of bream there I still cant bring myself to go any lower than 4lb leader

    Hi

Be great to see some posts with some reefies it will give me some great memories of fishing the reefs out from Gladstone in the old De Havilland Trojan a couple of decades ago Hey
  17. Theres plenty of bream in the shallows at the moment chasing prawns What boat were you in? There was a hornet or something similar near me in Simpsons bay for a short time around 6:30
  18. The hose between the bulb and motor was a bit long so I cut it shorter and the fuel that came out was ok Note to self dont drop the hose on the floor after you take off the connector to the outboard as the fuel siphons out over the garage floor
  19. Hmmm just kicked it over again and it started first pull and I only checked the plugs
  20. Nah no cranking battery The old fuel was only about 5l but had been there for quite a while I reckon it may have sucked up a bit of water from condensation in the fuel tank Weather was great only a hint of northerly would have come up a bit later on
  21. Hit Port Hacking thismorning and the outboard started first go as it always does so motored over to Simpsons bay fished for a bit but the swell was making it hard to stand up so thought may as well go and hit some hulls till the tide got high enough to hit some flats then the outboard decided not to start nothing not a whimper so electriced back to the boatramp got home put it on the muffs and it started though a little rough Job for this afternoon dump fuel(put 10l in thismorning but fuel that was still in it was a bit old) clean plug check fuel filter check carbie and see what happens
  22. Some nice bass there Jorg Must of been a great weekend with that lot Next time I expect an invite
