  1. If a boat is set up correctly, motor is adjusted correctly,a splash well fitted, seating as high as possible, and weight distributed evenly for one or two fishers. Then stick to the tiller. If not go the other which is a nice and easy time spend driving. The plus side to the tiller is the back of the boat is the softers part to ride in.I dont thing that you will be going in seas that would worry your tiller desision. 2. Blue cod you have nailed it . Good advice. sea jay keep the posts coming Hazza
  3. GW 77 good catch of pinkies, mowies & reddies. However, WHY 'stinkers' ??????????? You will obviously in the replies to your picture with every right be slammed with this catch of fish. I am not judging the quantity of fish caught however, if for instance you are a fisherman who goes fishing once a month then that amount of fish caught on that day is ample. On the other hand, a frequent fisherman (average person) not pro's goes fishing once/twice a week that catch to me show's greed and abuse. Swoffa, your quote, "What's the point in a discussion forum if there's no tolerance for any sort of discussion and sharing of opinions?" Could not agree more. Moderators, you seem to always darken topics when it's at it's peak. It's a OPEN discussion and should not be dictated to what we have to state as our opinion. Hazza

  7. Livie the only sugestion that I can think off is to Tig weld the holes. Sand back to a smooth finish . Spray either epoxy primer or enamel primer. touch up can for Tohatsu o/b can be purchased from dealer ship. The metallic gray paint for late model o/b is different to early models o/b. Hazza
  8. Getting back to the questions surrounding foam. It's a polyurathane expanded foam. It is an epoxy base material, and being an epoxy it does not harm the alloy. It's available in 1 kg to 20 kg kit. Can be poured or you can be purchased as a nosel gun with part A & part B, however costs more that way. Theres a lot of positives to this product but the only down fall is when a crack in the hull appears the foam would have to be cut out and replaced. Hope this helps Hazza
  9. Jocool it is flotasion foam Icant remember the correct name at the moment but I will find it and reply.Savage boats also use it on its larger grafts. Probably does'nt do much as the bottom sheets are 2mm. Hazza
  10. Mate I saw one close to my place the other day very bad cond old 35 envirude is asking $3000 Ihope it gives you an idea. Hazza
  11. Buster1 Icant give you much advice on glass boats as I've had limited experience in them . The best glass boat that i had the pleasure in fishing in would be the FORMULA 233 from haines. theres a mob down the coast that still produce thehull from 15ft -19ft-23ft great hull shapes. Eden Graft. As for the alloy boats' well' I might be here all day,but to keep it sweet ,2 problems crap inported 5052alloy,and paint before fitout. They must predrill all the holes than paint, aproved silicons that do not eat into alloy. For softer riding go plate alloy 3mm minimum and spray poly foam to minimize noise. Hazza

  17. Posted - 05 Jun 2005 : 12:21:16 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did not get to post last week but here it is Got up early to go to work on saturday but desided to go for a jew spin for about an hour. The tide was dead low at 6.10am.On arriving to my spot i watched as bait were getting smashed by something big.I cast my 2-5kilo flick stik,2500 daiwa loaded with 10pound braid,20pound leader, connected to a 4inch power bait rigged on a worm hook and a split shot on the leader. And got hooked up big time, the fight was a good one ,while i was on more fish where smashing bait, dehooking the jew with shaking hands i guickly cast to the same spot and hooked up again.A short tussel, and a nice jew between 3-4kilos was released. The first fish couldnt be revived so was kept for the table, not bad for 40min of fishing. 18. Good work joe these are the days you treasure. How did you go on sat morning?
  19. Last night I was flicking through a magazine when I came across a article from "Bushy" titled "Precision soft Plastics". In this article he write about all the fun him and his buddy have when fishing offshore for Kings & Snappers. I definently know what his talking about catching Kings until your arms got sore and seeing Reds that you did'nt believe existed in Sydney. Chasing frenzies that where not your typical harbour stuff. I am talking about mayhem. This style of fishing was fished from boats ranging from 4 to 4.5m top ender style boats. Hazza Edited by Ken A
  20. Big engines, high speeds concerns me...................... Recently talking with a good friend of mine, a Naval architect that has extensive boating experience & is a top Mariner. Conversation arose regarding line drawings for building a bream boat. Speed came up. Most of the new bream boats out on the market are all equiped with delivering high speeds. Some of the boats are capable of reaching 100 k/m's on water. This concerns me and my fellow friend this is a accident waiting to happen. For instance the P platers driving today, the accidents caused from inexperienced, young drivers in powerfull cars. In comparison to this what happens to young boat drivers moving up from a small tinnie with reaching approx. 20 to 28 knots then purchasing boats reaching 50 knots and over. How can they afford some may say, well you can say like the same reason they can afford the powerful cars, leased, financed e.t.c...... When is SAFETY going to be a priority and when are restrictions going to be opposed by a governing body. For instance a young boat driver should s/he be allowed to drive a boat over a particular speed limit with no prior or little boat driving experience. Place anyone inside a flashy boat with a large motor at the back, yeah great looks fantastic you feel good in it, that's a great sale for the boating industry. It's then left to the owner to gain his/hers own experience at dealing with high speed boating. Responsibility is then a issue, how responsible will the person be in driving a boat that is capable of high speeds. It's then only a matter of time that high speed collisions or accidents could start occuring. This will send the boating industry into turmoil. Too some what I have opinionated may be a load of shit but I am not the only person who has this opinion. Your thoughts????????????????????????? Hazza.
  21. Hi Mick, Welcome to the topic. I think the alicore decks you are mentioning are actually used only on the hatches and not the decks. Talking about warped decks, I have had a timber deck on my tinnie for 10yrs, it has been water logged for the last few years and guess what it remains as is, the timber has not warped. Hazza
  22. Goncrats on the bub Rick. Seriosly fellas "what bumpy ride", you gota be kiding. The half metre chop, if a boat can"t handle that with eze it should"nt be allowed to be sold in australia. Thing about it we"ve got concerns and ? about how it rides on "BUMPY WATER" . How often to we get water that smooth like in the gataloges that we see or on the internet sites that we downloud. Pethetic if you ask me .There"s some boats so bloody low a duck could swim over the thing with out missing a beat. hazza
