Threw out my lucky a green squid jig. on the second cast got him! boy this guy made my soft plastics rod work hard. ate it for lunch today. you beauty.

  7. Hi all, Went out today to Brighton. Arrived at 8:00am and started flicking softplastics around. Such a nice sunny warm day it was comfortable, light wind and calm waters. Felt like taking a nap on the sand. But i was not there for sleeping. I wanted to catch a flathead. Havent had much luck catching anything lately Havent been fishing for the last month. So i was desperate to fish. It was 11:45am when I decided that I was gonna catch nothing today. One last cast and thats it! im heading home. Until... ohh... what!? a nice size "fatty" came into the net. This guy probably wanted to go home with me too, so I gladly took him along.

  16. I use fluorocarbon trace when using lures such as SP's its invisible under water and more abrasion resistant than mono.
  17. Hi Pafisho08, thanks for the tip. Its really fun fishing down at there. most of the time the water is calm and relaxing. great for a soft plastics day anytime.
  18. Surprise that the Bonito's are still hanging around down there at Bass Point. As the waters are getting cold I guess they will be moving up north soon. Probably be the Last bonito I see caught for 2008. but due to global warming you never know how they will move. Awesome catch!
  19. Yeah nice relaxing spot. I was out there for a good 2 hours. arrived 1 hour before high tide.
  20. Should go to your local fish market and gaze at the fish, Check sizes, Prices, variety...
  21. Hi Chris, little hard to explain but here goes, start of by hooking the worm through the mouth and then slowly push the body through the middle, feeding the body though up the hook. Now if its a long worm then you can keep pushing and feeding the worm pass the hook and then up the fishing line. You would like to leave the hook hanging out. The worm should look straight and natural. For a better hold you should use a bait holder long shank hook. You should gently cast you line out, not too hard or else the worm will just rip off due to the whipping action. now half of the worms I pumped were cut in half and most were 2~3 cm. With these I would hook them on like all you can eat style. Works great. Good luck!
  22. Thanks, well to tell you the truth it was my first time pumping for worms. I bought a pump last Thursday and checked the tides and found that it was low tide in the early morning. Tip is best to do it when its low. and pump those areas where the little holes are (tiny volcanos). I got excellent results pumping in the water. I tried the reverse method by pumping air into them to make them squirt out, but had no luck. Its a lot of work to do but its worth it. Good luck. Hi SAfisho, I was fishing around here... Thank everyone for your comments. Cheers, Katsuo
