  1. Lake Lyell is good camping is good, hot showers Bloody freezing this time of year, need to put the milk in the esky so it does not freeze We normally go late May early June good water access for kayaks or canoes Take plenty of firewood.
  2. Hi STUCATZ, I'm also in the innerwest and it appears clubs are a bit like decent boat ramps non existant Also partial to an occasional ale after a
  3. I agree Stewy, the coast guard do a great job and I also agree the goverment should support those that freely give their time to attempt to ensure the safety of the boating community. Growing up down the coast at Eden, we had the Royal Volunteer Coastal patrol keeping the 24hr vigil. I also think it would be nice if there was one entity that you registered with and your details were on a common database no matter which port or organisation you signed in with when you embarked. Dreamin probably. Also just my opinion and ideas, and as we know opinions are like freckles everyone has one. Curious to here anyone elses
  4. Interesting Post, I keep and breed tropical fish. I have often wondered about taking the live bait home and setting up a saltwater tank. Or perhaps a baby bream or snapper. Salt does appear to be a bit more involved though. I will be watching intently to see the Yakka Project progress
  5. This is an interesting read, the waterways are after comments. volunteer_marine_rescue.pdf
  6. Great Fish, sounds like a great day out I wish my missus would come out for a fish
  7. Yes this is on the money Saltrix, the Red Rockies are a good eat, but if they spike you proper, it is not an experience you will forget or enjoy As for the wrasse (Butchers P@@@) OK eat need a bit of size otherwise quite boney Rarely take either, I'm probably a bit fussy Regards Craig
  8. Hi , If there is room left I would like to get in also if possible
  9. Nice Fish, looks like a lovely spot on the river there.
  10. Lake Lyell is a great weekend away, No phone reception we normally have a trip late may Would be great to meet and greet and have a beer a paddle and fish.
  11. Hi, I Would also like to do the coarse, dependant on date and venue, a venue closer to town would be nice
  12. Nice Rainbow breamhntr, We camped Lyell, last weekend but with lesser results. 3 landbased and 1 in the boat, for the Friday to Sunday only managed 3 undersized Rainbows, a Yabby and a goldfish. Used Hard bodies, Tassie devils, Soft plastics, worms, mudeyes etc but all taken on powerbait and returned for a future fight. Bit of a concern was the huge schools of goldfish up where the Cox's river meets Farmers creek.
  13. Sorry Dave don't have the speed/temp sensor fitted on the sounder. Didn't feel like it had the winter chill yet. Bet it will be cooler at Lake Lyell this weekend, off with the boys for a camp and fish
  14. Managed to get out for a morning fish yesterday Supposed to be painting the bathroom while the missus is away Hoping for a couple of tailor for a feed and maybe some salmon action. Had an uneventful outing last week, trolling raiders on the surface. Concluded that if the said reported species were about they were down a bit deeper. Trolled a couple of metalic coloured bibbed minnows with more success Got our feed by 9, got smoked by something quite a bit bigger, a silver flash and it was gone along with my favourite lure for the day It appears I'm going to be eating fishcakes for the rest of the week. Great day out and not much traffic, love the Harbour through the week
  15. I'm born and bred from down Eden way and while a kingy or two are fun, and a few decent snapper are good my staple is always a good feed of outside flathead, sandy's or tigers, thats what I like to fill the bag to bring home. great trip report, this is the best part of the east coast IMHO
  16. Hi Geoff, Have three Okumas Epix EB20 great little reel lives in the car ready for a quick fish, mainly breamin, has taken a size kinghy though. An EB60 good reel for the money taken kings to 75cm, dont believe its as good a reel as my shimano 6500 baitrunner but 1/2 the price. Also have a VS30 and its a great little reel for the money
  17. Hi All Sounds like a top day out, pity I have other commitments on the day. Would have been good to see and chat to some of the faces behind the posts. Probably going to be pretty busy on the harbour with both the QE2 and the Queen Victoria in town for the weekend. Regards Craig
