  1. After months of interest in Soft Plastics, watching hours of DVD and TV footage and spending hundreds on the right gear (thanks Go Fish for good deals), just as i began to wonder if they work or not, I finally caught something. I was fishing at St Helens on the Tassie coastline with Daiwa procaster 702 MLFS using squidgy flickbait 70mm - flashprawn and 2gm #2 jighead. Found a nice spot with patches of weed on the sandy bottom and 2 casts in i landed this little flattie... with the help of this discussion - http://fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=36060 - i applied some S factor and came up with some strange fish.
  2. I live in the Hills area to and unfortunatly you wont find any fishing spots. I recommened using 5inch gulp jerk shads and larger grasshopper squidgy fish (to catch decent size fish) and just bounce them across the bottom, which creates a small puff of sand, in turn attracting fish. Fish them at moderate to slow pace but be sure to maintain contact with the lure so them means having as little slack line as possible. I found that helps to detect bites and makes the lure work the exact way you tell it to. I havent had enough "flatty on plastics" experience to tell you what jig head sizes to use, but anything that will get you on the bottom without being too heavy. I have caught flatties on - the squidgy brand, round jigheads 2.0 #2. Practice using this jighead first on 70mm Squidgy flickbait in flashprawn colour then move onto the larger lures i mention to catch the bigger fishing. Good luck. If it isnt working you havent found the fishing (which is the hardest part) or just slowww down the retreive.
  3. One the squidgy DVD, called "the S-factor" they use a tube of the s-factor goo. Brett Wilson mentions that its a prototype s-factor pen. I can only assume they will release it seperatly in the future.
  4. nah didnt get anything, although i did get a few hits but no hook ups. Ah well next time aye
  5. Time has come to test the S-factor today and will report my results
  6. had my bday today and got a couple of packs of squidgies and the Squidgy Secrets 5 - Sfactor DVD. I love it!
  7. yeh Catana's are probably the best for the budget your looking are looking at in terms of a full graphite rod. However you have to take care of them, cause they graphite break easily. You could also go for a $40 Abu-Garcia which is graphite, with a fiberglass tip which wont break. I got a Daiwa Procaster A 702, 2-4kg, $85 at GoFish. I also had the option of a 6"6 Berklet Dropshot, 2-4kg for the same price. I negotiated a bit, but if your a member they will be happy to drop the price.
  8. even to be on the safe side, i recon just take them off
  9. just placed an order with my sister for xmas, to get me some Squidgy pro wrigglers in bloodworm - 80mm & Flickbait in flashprawn
  10. yeh probably but Paul's main priorities would be getting a plug in for his Tackleworld store. I know Escape With ET definatly have a sponsership, the other day they were using Gulp to catch Snapper, next thing you know brett wilson comes on talking about how good the Squidgy Flickbait's for Snapper are.

  18. Just wondering if the hype about the "S Factor" range has any credability. Does the lures work better with the S FACTOR on them considering they say it has been developed for Australian fish? What are some of your experiences with them? thanks

  20. thanx for the replys, i tried fishing soft plastics on sunday, but they werent interested. I saw some big fishing jumping im guessing they were hitting surface insects or just big mullet coming out to play.
