  2. Yeah, Typical I went in there last year to buy an alvey for a jew rod I had been given, the guy tried his hardest to talk me out of it. Even suggested i get rid of this rod and buy another one. Jeez, some of the guys in there are jerks!!
  3. GrantM That tackle store that tried to upsell you wasnt at Erina was it???
  4. I have a Coleman Scanoe and find the stadium seats OK to use, so you can take them off when you turn the canoe over. What i also use are those cushions you can get for outdoor seats, we eventually found some smaller than normal that fit realy well. I also run a battery (12v sealed) but I only use it to run a small Eagle sounder, FYI I mounted this with a suction cap mount (you can buy), it doesnt come off even with a small 3.5 hp outboard pushing the scanoe. Also a set of rod holders so you can paddle if you want to troll really slow.
  5. It almost looks like Tangalooma, but I cant remember a pool
  6. I have heard before the rain there was a heap of flathead down south (Nth end Copa/Macmasters) in about 50m water. I know a guy that got 40+ between 2 last week and good size apparently
  7. good boat, my brother in law has got one and I thought it was great last time he was down this way.

    Live Well

This is the tank I used, it sits in a cut out space at the back of the boat, see photo. The tank will leak some water but I used a foam tape to seal the lid and a robber clip to keep the lid shut when underway and bouncing around. The pick up on the back picks the water up and when it is full it empties over the transom. photo attached Apart from the holes to mount the pick up there is no others.

    Best Canoe

I have got a coleman scanoe, I use a 3hp Mercury on it. It has its own sounder, just one of those little Eagles with a suction cap tranduser. Its good but its pretty big.
  12. I have a 25 Tohastu on my 4 metre Qunnie, it has had the restricter plate taken out of the carbie and is the same as a 30. Full of gear and live bait tank full, two up, does 30 knots on the sounder - sounders can be notoruiosly wrong though. This is the second Tahastu, basic, built well and have never had a problem - touch wood. A mate of mine in Townsville ran a hire boat business and he used Tohastus, as you could imagine life for those motors were terrible yet they kept going. In fact I have seen someone wear a prop away over a weekend.

    New Sarca Anchor

I have been using one for about 18 months, mostly Flint & Steel and Juno. Generally it will set first go and hold bottom which is great because I am generally on my own and at times you almost have to thread the boat between others to anchor so you dont get in the way of others. Great anchor and so far it has come up every time.
  14. My job is to tie knots, catch bait, clean fish and then cook. But would I change anything, absoulutley not. We have travelled a lot and lived in some good places for fishing so they have all caught good fish. Sometimes the fish of the trip. They are all older now and they are more into sport, mates, girls etc... but every now and again they go fishing
  15. This is what happens when you take your son fishing Caught at Pearl Beach a few months ago
  16. If you are going to the snowy call into the Gaden Trout Hatchery just outside Jindabyne. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours and the staff have always been very eager to talk each time I have been. The brood trout in there are absouletly huge and in the river flowing past there is a heap of great trout just finning along - no fishing of course. Last time we where there it was the winter after the fires and they were concerned about excess polution from the run off. Had some great fishing in the lake - a bit chilly, makes hairtail fishing seem quite cosy actually. Caught an Atlantic Salmon about 65cm trolling on 2kg
