  6. Mate, all I can say is make your first fishing trip chasing milkies!! I say with no doubt at all that pound for pound probably the strongest fish in the water... They fight an incredible fighting fish!! When you go send me a pm and I'll speak to me mates up there see if they can show you around...
  7. I was fishing in a pond near mine (no fishing pond) so I thought use the handline and lets see how these carp go... Well apart from line burn and getting chased by a ranger I couldn't tell you how they went, but I do agree that if carp are there why can't us fishos do our bit for nature? Honestly, if your going to catch and eat a carp (unles you know what your doing) goodluck!! Cheers Ben

  10. G'day Fellow Raiders, Got a question that I am hoping someone may be able to help me with... I have spent many fishing sessions on the beach and rocks, and normally can rely on catching a couple of shovel noses each session. Here the question lies, I was at my local yesterday talking about fishing with 'rex hunt' - thought he knew more! And he reckons that shovel nose sharks are great eating, he said that they are just like a big flattie... Was wondering what everyone else thought... If they are good how do you clean and cook?? Thrown back many feeds for nothing else by the sound of it... Cheers Ben
  11. Looks as though I know where I will be this weekend...
  12. Hey mate, I have heard many people say that they are great eating... Personally I have never tried, not something I go out of my way to catch, however like I said, I have heard that they are great to eat, maybe give the next one a go on the BBQ... Anyone else heard they are good or tried them before? Cheers Ben
