Only ever tried eating them a few times but never liked them so i thought i would give them another shot tonight. Anyone got any good ways to cook them up?? Jack Hey Mate, Fillet the sambos, throw them into some boiling water with a brick, when the brick softens, throw the sambo away and eat the brick Sorry Mate... Not a big fan of the sambos at all!! G'day Mate... Target Beach is definately worth a shot... Last season went down with a mate throwing metals and just pillie tossing off the beach, between the two of us we would of landed a good solid 20 or more sambos with a few tailor... G'day Fellow Raiders... Probably been visited before, but I have a little question, I want to start catching poddy mullet and keeping them alive for future use live bait... I was just wondering, how long would they stay alive for in a fish tank etc with aerator and if water gets changed every second or third day... Would this be worthwhile, or will I be better off trying to get them early in the week and use as the week goes by? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated... Cheers All Ben

Never forget going into Botany Bay - first time I had ever used my boat in the bay- and we were just off Towra, when the pipe from the petrol to the engine split.... Anyway, that meant long swim or call for a tow... so we called the water police to tow us in (didn't know what else to do and it was to cold to swim it back in like we did in the harbour one time - thats another story) anyway we had it planned that we would be back hopefully almost home by dark, by the time the water police came to help us (3 hours later - still snagged quite a few flatties on the drift to whereever we ended up) the pull up next to the boat, and tow us back.. we get to the ramp and before they let us go do a check... No lights (at all) - like I said had no intentions of being on the water in the dark. No radio No this no that... And to top it off I left one of me life jackets in the car!! Stupid I know... so anyway they go, by all rights we should take the boat off you and you should lose your licence... Then I started the whole sob story of what was meant to be a good DAY out not a NIGHT, and they let us off... They said that the fine should have been well over $5k for the lack of gear etc... we got off with a free tow and have a nice night... Cheers Ben

Will probably launch from Tom Uglys and see how the weather is pending which way to head - into the bay or into georges... If your keen to give it a go mate, I am determined to hit a few spots that I have a pretty good feeling about, maybe head out together or something? Cheers Ben

Why not just fish like the Aboriginals up North... Shoulder high in crocodile infested water, all you see is a head, an arm and a spear and more often then not when you see the spear disappear there is a nice fish on the other end... no hooks and no pain (maybe on impact)... Nothing worse then seeing that 50m away from you and you struggle for a hook up... Cheers Ben
