G'day All... Went out under the spit yesterday arvo/night... We had prawns, whitebait, live yakkas, live herring/pike, not sure, sharp teeth!! and even got a squid, even though dropped two and got sick of follows but no hookups, so decided to almost jump in and net one, didn't miss Anyway, we fished for hours and hours... it was a great night out there, pretty calm, not too many others out, and what not, only problem was the bait that I called as live above was all we got... I through everything but the kitchen sink at the area and couldn't catch a cold... Still it was a great night out, plenty of laughs and just good to be out there giving it a go... Memorable part was getting home, jumping in the shower, getting changed then racing to work, and still being 15 minutes late... Can't wait for this arvo, bit of a snooze before a sleepy Jewie will hopefully get inticed... Cheers Ben

From what I have seen, when it comes to Foster, Roberta is the person to speak to about fishing the area. I'm sure she would have no dramas giving you some advice up there... Definately knows whats what up there... Cheers Ben

Just spoke to one of me mates who said: "Cutting off the splitt is the best fix" He does this professionally, if you know what your doing he said you could do it no worries, he said if you have any doubts or second thoughts don't do it or your likely to make matters worse... He said get a pic and he will have a much better idea on advice for ya... Cheers Ben

Mmmm... don't know about cutting it... It may not fit together again if you cut it... It's not a cut and leave job, you'd have to sand down the edges or it is likely to fray, and then that 1cm crack would have been a better look... Like I said I am no rod builder though, thats how I see it... Give me a couple of days, I will be seeing a few of my mates over the weekend, they build all their own rods and for bucket loads of people... They definately know they're stuff, I'll see what I can do mate... Maybe PM me your number and I could give you a call... Or I'll speak to them and see what they say... Cheers Ben

Mate, I am heading to the Spit after work for an arvo/night sesh... Will be in my tinnie... Also gonna try few other spots around MH... Will post up when i get home how we went and what was about if that helps... Would be interested if anyone had any advice for fishing the area mentioned above, me boat has never seen this waterway before, only ever fished it landbased... Any suggestions would go great...
