  2. Hi, I know we have a section for Desperate and Boatless, my impression of this section is to try get a ride as a deckie. What about something like a Fishing Trips section, where people landbased can post up a trip, such as Beach fishing, Land base Jew Fishing etc. I have a beach outfit and only ever used it once and got this shites with it, but am keen to give it another go if there are people out there that go beach fishing and wouldn't mind a tag along. 9. Well, Hit the Port Hacking today, late start, hit the water about 11am, this was my first Trip on the Port for a bait fish, only second time ever visited. Stopped off for a while attempted to pump some yabbies, gave up on that and decided to use some old prawns and pilchard I was going to use as berley. Anyway, motored out near Bundeena and chucked a line in, I was on within seconds, not even time to get the second rod out, was a nice Trevor, kept catching trevors for the next couple hours, with a Bream and Tarwhine thrown in the Mix, got 11 Keeper fish over the next few hours. Also Managed my first Kingy! (on diced pilchard), but not legal size(42cm), was using 6lb vanish, damn these things go hard, seemed to take an eternity for him to finally concede defeat, can only imagine how a big Kingy would fight. Anyway, top day on the water... here are a couple pics. First Kingy! Final Tally Dan

  17. Well, this was my second out ever for Bass, managed to break my virginity last week with a small one... Hit the water at a leisurely 9am down at Yarramundi bridge, paddled straight past the lagoon, and another bloke helped me carry my yak over the rocks. Within in a few minutes of casting I had my first Bass of 31cm..measured this on to tip..forgot Bass measurments are different . Moved along over the weed barriers, changed lure to a bett spin casting for a while, had a touch, cast back in and bang...this one fought much better than the last, I think it managed to get under a log, as I couldnt pull it any more...let out some line...off we go again it came free, this turned out to be a 32cm Fork bass![] Had a few more casts for a couple touches and follows but no hookups. On the way back there was a nice log sticking out from the water, thought might as well have a cast at that, looks like it should hold something...well, lure hit the water and got smashed!...this thing went like the clappers...felt like I was pulling up a log!..rod bent over, drag was tight, loosened drag a bit and put the pressure on..I think I had the mother load! As the fight subsided up came a BIG bass and a PB Bass for me to beat. 38cm Fork! Got a coulple more small bass on the way back ended up with 5 Bass from 9 - 1230 Here is a few pics.... 38CM Fork! 31CM 32CM Fork Dan

  20. Nice catch....where were you fishing out of...Botany?, Pittwater?, Sydney? etc, no need for exact location just interested in the water way. Thanks Dan
  21. Yeah, u gotta be careful... Was reading In one of the fishing mags... There was a story about a father and son fishing, and the hook was stuck on something, when it came free it went right into the kids eye and ripped it open...needless to say he is now blind in one eye. The point of the story was to make sure your eyes are covered all the time with things such as sunglasses..a freak accident can happen any time. I know myself the hook sometimes comes close to the face....thankfully only hand hookages so far <touch wood> Dan.
