  3. Hi all, After checking all the weather sites I Can't decide. What does everyone think. Will the weather play nice tomorrow for a fish in the harbour from a tinnie or will it be too windy? Ash

  5. Steve Starling says this about the eating qualities: "Eating Qualities: The snook is a very good to excellent table fish, much prized in southern waters. The fish's flesh is white, moist and sweet, although a little soft. Care should be taken not to bruise the meat, and all snook should be cleaned promptly after capture."
  6. Apparently they are good eating. Didn't eat that one. Not sure on the bones either.
  7. Hi all, Too rough to fish today so I thought I'd submit this picture of a snook I caught down in Adelaide a couple of years ago. We caught heaps using ganged hooks with thin slices of salmon skin and strips of pilchads. The method was using hand lines with bean sinkers tied on about every few feet for about 3 meters then motor along slowly. This one came to 83cms.
  8. Mate that is huge! Great catch!
  9. Bonito, great bait for bottom bashing!

  11. Hello Within Australia when I've flown I've taken a rod in a tube as onboard luggage leaving Sydney. Leaving Gold Coast I was not allowed to take the rod onboard and had to check it in as they said it was a weapon? Just to confuse things! Ash

  15. I prefer painted. When you're fishing on a 35 degree day in the sun the unpainted tinnie reflects the heat and gets real hot. Ash
  16. Have to agree, Craig is a top bloke. I bought a Stacer 429 Seahorse from him a few months back and it's bloody brilliant. All his recommendations were perfect!! Thanks Craig!

  19. Hello all, I'm going to install my fish finder tomorrow. To bolt the head unit to my aluminium tinnie I'm assuming I need to use stainless steel bolts and nuts. Just wondering if this is correct and will they react with the aluminium and corrode? Any tips would be great. thanks Ash
