  1. Nice fish Dave, welldone. Look forward to the pics. Cheers Luke
  2. Hi Raiders, Braved the big winds this arvo and headed to Narra Lake to have a fish in my new yak (Hobie Outback). Things were not easy out there but it was still an enjoyable arvo. After about 5 casts(using S.P's) I had a hit but I was not able to react to it straight away because the wind was blowing me all over the place. Once I got control I decided to stike just in case. At first I thought I was stuck on some weed but then I felt some head shakes and I knew that this would be a good fish. I was only fishing 4lb with a 10lb leader so I had to be patient with fish. Five minutes later I had this nice 60cm flattie. As wind picked up even more I decided to seek some protection so I travelled further up river. I caught another 4 or 5 smaller fish between 35 and 40 cms. Getting back to the boat ramp was nightmare as I was going against the wind. I got very wet. All in all it was a good session and can't wait to get out there again. Bye for now Luke
  3. Hey Hun, They are some nice healthy looking fish there, well done! Can't wait to get on the rocks myself.
  4. Hi Dave Sorry to hear about that lost king but it sounds like an exciting session you had.
  5. Hi Doug, Mate, maybe I will need to have a counselling session with you. As I prepare to have children over the next couple of years I may need to learn something about those magical powers.
  6. Hi Justin, Great to see you getting into the soft plastics and congratulations on your first flatty. Once you start getting a few more fish you will become addicted. The addiction is similar to that of fishing for blackies. I think its the anticipation that you become addicted to. Sure enough your bank balance will begin to shrink as you acquire more and more and more and more............... soft plastics... I look forward to hearing more reports in the near future. Cheers Luke
  7. Hi Jonas, to FishRaider The fishing in Sydney is fantasic and I'm sure you are going to catch plenty of fish. I must say that I have not done much fishing around that area, but I can only imagine there is plenty of structure and structure holds lots of fish. Best tip I can give is make sure you berley (bread is ok) and use fresh or live bait. Cheers Luke
  8. Hi Roberta, That was an awesome read. It is always exiciting to read your report. By the way, I think that squidgie should start sponsering. After all, you give them plenty of plugs and advertising . I just got back from Lake Cathie today. Got loads of prawns on saturday night (yum) and got plenty of flatties on the plastics. It was a good weekend considering the lake was not running. Cheers, Luke
  9. Hi Jewieslayer, That's a nice fish you got and well worth the effort.
  10. Well Done Copafisher, They are some healthy looking prawns you have there. I went out myself last night but the wind played havoc for me too.Still got a couple of dozen though. Prawn Sandwich or Live Bait? Great option to have ain't it
  11. Hi Loxo, thanks for the reply. I also enjoy using live bait and I would have loved to have put one of these suckers out for a nasty big bream But instead they ended up on my pizza tonight and they were sooooooo good.
  12. [Hi Raiders, Its been a couple of weeks since my last post so I thought I'd make this a good one. Went out to spot X on sunday night to go prawning with a mate. When we started the tide was just about to turn so things were a bit slow. However, we still managed to get a few around some weed beds and some we just sitting on the sand waiting for the tide to turn to make the great escape. As soon as the tide turned it was as though someone had switched on a light. It was on, one after the other. We ened up about a kilo each, no kidding. I was only prawning for about 1hr solid until my battery gave in. Anyway I hope you enjoy the pics as I enjoy the prawns.
  13. Hi Roberta, I have paid particular interest in the fact that you fish from a kayak. This has caught my attention as I am currently looking to buy a yak and I really want to get into kayak fishing. I was wondering if you or any of the other fish raiders could give some advice. I will mostly be fishing in salt water rivers around sydney. I think that I have found two that interest me the most. 1.) Prowler 2.) Hobie outback Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Blackies

Hi Justin, Great bag of fish you got yesterday. Good to know that their hanging around. Hope to get down there soon myself! Well done!
  16. Hi Peter, That's a great bag you got this morning. If only I could get down there. I have a t-shirt that reads, " work is for people who don't know how to fish" Damn that mortgage ! Hope to see you down there soon. (maybe after my next payment)
  17. to Fish Raider Italian Stallion. Congratulations on your first flathead it's an absolute ripper.
  18. Had lunch with the in-laws near Maroubra so I decided to go for a quickie this arvo at about 5.00pm. Headed to some local rock ledges and man was that southerly blowing or what. It didn't seem to deter the fish. I tried fishing for some bream but ended up with a few trevally. The one in the photo was my biggest and also a P.B trev for me. It weighed 2kg uncleaned and 52cm long. Hard work cranking it up an 8 Metre cliff but lots of fun.
  19. Thanks for the welcome Sherackattack its great to be apart of this exciting forum. Thanks also to everyone else who has welcomed me.
  20. Hi Peter, Thanks for your kind reply. Great to be fishing with you again. I must say that was some awesome fishing and it was great to see so many young people getting into it. Look forward to catching up again.
  21. Hi Fishraiders. This is my first post on this site but been fishing for a while. Blackfish were on fire on Friday arvo at Narrabeen Lakes. I had the privilige of standing between Peter and Rob to share in the spoils. I took home 13 blackies but landed at least 20, all between 30-35cm. Awesome fishing!! Happy days.
