  6. If your up for abit of a drive there's harrington up the mid north coast , and is about 3 and a half hours away from Sydney. There's a nice caravan park there , good fishing , and a bowling club and a pub. http://www.big4harringtonbeach.com.au/home/index.php Also there's Kiama down the coast where theres another Big 4 Caravan park there aswell. Cheers, Rhys
  7. Yes Harrington is a Beautiful place. If you stay at the Big 4 Caravan Park there you are only about a short walk away from The break wall , Shops , Pub , and bowling club. We were up there not to long ago , when the Nrl Grandfinal was on. Really Friendly people up there. Not bad fishing aswell . Also Theres Patonga , at the hawkesbury , not bad caravan park there either. Or if you wanted to head down south , at Kiama there's another Big 4 Caravan Park there too. & Kiama Has some pretty good fishing aswell. Cheers , Rhys.
  8. Hi everyone. Can anyone please give me a few spots or areas in the hawkesbury that are producing some nice Bream , Flathead or Whiting at the moment. I'd like to be between the Vines & Patonga / Flint and steel area of the river. If you'd like you could pm them to me if you would prefer that . Cheers , Rhys.
  9. Congratulations to young Ryan on the two nice flatties there. Good on him for getting them on Soft plastics aswell , myself , 14 , I still can't get them on the softys. Rhys
  10. Hi everyone . Should be heading up to the hawkesbury river on Monday. We will be fishing from a boat , and it would be very helpful if anyone could give me a few locations in the river that are producing some nice fish. We fish the hawkesbury alot , and just can't seem to catch any decent fish. We will be going up patonga creek to pump some nippers as fresh bait. Cheers
  11. Hi numbnuts, the guy who won this year was Paul Southwell and had caught a 19.2 Kg Jew. I had so far the worst year in the competition, of the four years going in it. But anyway always next year. Cheers
  12. Yes I will be going up for it. Unfortunately my dad has to be at a wedding, but luckily i get to go up with my uncle, if nothing suddenly occurs for him. & as Byron said, 7th-8th-9th of November. Cheers.
  13. Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone know's some effective soft plastics that are working at the moment. I'm looking into using them abit now. Any tips on soft plastics will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  14. Yes i will deffinitely be going in it again with my dad and his mates. We have been going in it for the past 2 or 3 years, so it's sort of an anual thing for us now.
  15. Hey Jewieslayer I fish this river a lot. Nice and local, and I here things about people catching some big fish out of this system. As much as i fish this system, im not one of those who catch them big fish. But i can advise you to head down towards the vines. Nicely sheltered for the night, on calm waters. Also some good fishing down there. Overnight, using some nice fresh bait, should get you maybe a nice Jewie for your bucks. Good luck. Enjoy your last days of being a non married man. Congratulations also on the marriage to be.
  16. Hi Fellow Raiders. I was just wondering if anyone has gone fishing lately in the hawkesbury river? Should be heading up there Early friday morning, and coming back mid-day Saturday. Just wanting to know how people have gone about catching anything decent up there lately. Cheers.
  17. Hi. Yes i would have to agree with Forliano. I've never tried catching yakkas around wharfs, but yes i would advise trying for squid around them. Just a nice and slow retrieve, on a squid jig. I've only ever gone after them once, abit of badluck. Could always see them following it up, just could not get them hooked on. I then was fishing off a wharf. Cheers
  18. Thankyou so much Jewgaffer. I am only 14 , but i understoood everything you said. I will let my dad know when he gets home of all the wonderful information you have given me. Do you fish the hawkesbury much? Cheers.
  19. Hi everyone. I am only 14, and this is my first post on fish raider so bare with me. Anyway i was just wondering if anyone knows any good spots around the hawkesbury river and at what times to fish them. Probably not much further down past the vines and no further then maybe Juno Pt (because there is suppose to be 10-15 knot winds) Me and my dad are planning to go there for a 1 and a half day trip , from early Friday morning , to Saturday arvo. We fish there a lot, and the amount & size of the fish we catch most the time is abit disappointing, we catch maybe one Flathead, keeper, of maybe 6cm over legal, or maybe 1 or 2 just pan size bream, that at our best, but nothing to exciting. Anyway, back to the topic of the spots, does anyone know where we could maybe get a few decent flatty's or some good sized bream or maybe even a Jewie over night. For once it would be nice to pull a few decent ones in. Also, does anyone know some spots for squid around these areas? Might be the fact that every time we go where getting bait from servo and that might be the reason for our badluck. Except for livies, we catch them. All help, tips, or spots very muchly appreciated. Cheers.
