  3. Thanks Raiders, your kind words are reassuring. I am hoping to get a leave Pass for Fathers Day. Should be fun. Paddy
  4. Chris, awesome haul. Recipe sounds delicious. Perhaps you should bring down a couple dozen plates of stuffed squid for the Bay Social Well done mate! pat
  5. Headed out yesterday morning with PredAtor (AKA Stan). Anyway I get to the ramp at Kyeemagh a little early to launch the boat. I was pretty excited as the weather was looking good and I thought that after my Fishing School experience I may be able to show Stan a great day on the bay...... I put the boat in - no dramas. Park the car - no worries - get back to the boat - all good. Move the boat to allow others to launch - nice and polite. The only problem – why is there water lapping at my shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to put the BUNGS IN! Panic hits. I beach the boat and scramble for the bungs put them in and the boat is still floating. But I am in a mad panic - completely freaked out! Then Stan arrives - cool calm and collected.....tells me its AOK "we have all done it" .....but that doesn't help - I am in foetal position sucking my thumb, rocking back and forwards and calling for "MOTHER" …. Finally, with the help of Stan the boat is on the trailer, the water is empting out and calm sets in. A short time later and we launch the boat mark 2 and this time Bungs are in and done up nice and tight....and we are off, for what should be a great day. One hour passes no fish...that’s ok. Two hours o dear, three hours passes....O MY GOD I AM JINXED! Finally we hit a school of slimeys and yakkas and just have a bit of fun pulling them up and throwing them back.....Then we head orf to the oil wharf where we run into a bloke (not literally) who helped at the ramp and he says we should go for a flattie drift....and he comes decides to come a long for the ride. We drift and fish.....the other boat is onto fish in a minute..... we are still a big fat Doughnut! Then our new friend in the other boat suggests that we should head outside and down to the light house.....once again he is on with in minutes .Stan and I get tangled and we decide after seven hours its been fun, its been interesting but its time to head in…. No fish but a great day on the bay!
  6. Awesome catch of squid! Nice way to spend a day with a mate too. Thanks for the pics. Pat
  7. Hey Raiders, well I went to fishing school and I have to say it was pretty good. I had a great day with five fellow fishers and the teacher a very knowledgable and acomplished Fisher. We fished the Bay for 7 hours using heaps of different techniques. We moved around a lot and I learnt a thing or two about fishing. It was pretty hard to find any fish early on and Ithought I may be some kind of jinx.....four hours passed before we landed our first legal Trev - however we found a school and in around 10 minutes we had landed about 20 of the little fighters. All in all though it was a great day and I am really looking forward to showing of my new found skills very shortly! Cheers Pat
  8. Hey Raiders, I am determined to post a fishing report on this forum. I have been a member for nearly three years and yet I have not posted a fish that I have caught. Now, quite a few Raiders have offered help, Tolz, PredAtor, Cungee George and boys I am for ever greatful and can't wait to get on the water with you all very soon. But I need to catch my own fish. So for my birthday last week my wife got me enrolled into fishing school and tomorrow I have 7 hours of it. I should be a PhD Fisher by 1pm tomorrow. By 1:15pm tomorrow I should be posting my first ever solo catch..... To give you all an idea of how bad its been I went out fishing with fellow Raider Tolz (Anthony) he caught ten fish to my one . I take three blokes on MY boat and all three will bag out! Not me them....This Ladies and Gentlemen has to stop:thumbup: So I look forward to posting tomorrow. pat
  9. G'day Swordie, can you put me down plus one. cheers Pat

  16. Very nice Noodles! Well done.
  17. Hey Raiders Just back from my first habour trip and I have to say it was AWESOME!!! All the advice was taken and it paid off. I headed off at Rose Bay around 0730 and headed straight to the Pig and Sow or is that Sow and Pig. But before that with Bluebottle 18s I went to the fish shop and bought slimey mackerel prawns and white bait. Right now back at the Sow and Pig we drop anchor, berely up and wait. First bait of slimy mackerel baited and over the side. Then I set up a SP rig. Two min later and three years of half heartedly trying.. I finally land a fish on SPs and not only that it is a legal 32 cm Trevally! And I have to say I am pretty stoked!!! By this stage the berely is working in over drive we quite litterally we have a sizable school of Trevs under the boat and with every bait going in is producing fish!!!! Albeit just under legal and smaller. After an hour or so of fishing and catching baby Trevs we head of for a troll around middlehead as suggested by Pred-A-tor aka Stan. Had a great trip around really enjoyed a reasonable swell in my 4.2 metre boat but no salmon. No hassle it was fun driving around. Unfortunately by this time the wife was Txting and it was time to pull up stumps and head home. And the good news is I have three legal Trevs for entree. Finally a feed.... At this rate the boat is going to pay for itself!!!!!! Thanks to all for your advice greatly appreciated. Now next week? :-)
  18. Ludrick Angler I would love to have a fish on the cooks. I will PM you and lock in a day. Pat
