  1. G'day Reefhunter C-Map link........... http://www.c-map.com.au/ Contact number top right of the page. I rang them and asked heaps of questions and I'm glad I did otherwise I would have been ripped off due to my marine dealer not knowing there was an update of cards around the same time I purchased my C-Map card. The card changes were a big win for the consumer as far as more info goes. Give 'em a ring and they will tell you everything you want and need to know. I have the C-Map Max NT #M-AU-005. http://chartcatalogue.c-map.no/quickref_pl...?quickrefID=OCE and covers all this......... http://chartcatalogue.c-map.no/chartlistin...E&us_crtr=0 Hope this helps. Cheers Hooky
  2. Good stuff Basserman. My brother usually fishes out of Crowdy. Has a 520 Formosa with a 90 4stroke on the back......Suzuki I think. He's been getting some good hauls of snapper off Crowdy on his last few outings. Hopefully something is still biting for when I make my visits north this summer. cheers Hooky
  3. Happy Birthday to you all. All the best for your 50th Donna............

    My Boat Service

Hey Stewy Does Huey do services on Stacers with F60C's on the back?
  6. G'day all Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the belief that the only beach south of the Newcastle region that you could legally drive on and obtain a permit or other for, was the Kurnell area?

    Camping

Yep, I wandered over there today. Definately some great campers and Winnebagos'. I'll stick with the tent and roof rack awning I have.....for now!!! All I came away with was two new trivetts for my 4.5qt and 12qt camp ovens and a new oven bag for my 12qt oven. No real savings on anything, as one would expect, but a c'van and camping show is always worth going to even just for the browse and the chance to get some ideas for "making" instead of "buying. None the less, it was "free" entry. cheers Hooky
  8. Hope these pics help. Just took the pics, sorry about the quality. The flushing inlet in question. You can see my "click on" hose attachment I use sitting on the top. And the attachment screwed in to the flushing hose for "silent night time" flushing.
  9. I'm here!! Where are you? Nice work fella's.
  10. In other words you are basically doing nothing for all of the long weekend.
  11. Make sure you read it all properly because some limits also include "in possession" limits. This is critical for if you go camping or similar and want to take some home for the freezer........you don't want to have any over the "in possession" limit stored in the "Waeco" or esky. cheers Hooky
  12. Yep, might do that when I get a chance. I thought someone from Fishraider might have something to do with it, I saw the sticker on the boat out the front.
  13. G'day Simon I was getting readings of between 17.5 and 17.8 degrees at Mickeys Point just up from Alfords Point bridge today between 1pm and 2.30pm. cheers Hooky
  14. Nothing wrong with the lake or the fish, it's still a bit too early to be fishing Lyell seriously.
  15. That's the one I "hear" on the odd occasion at work. You must be close by? There is a boat with a fishraider sticker on it that is parked next door to Sureflo.......yours by any chance?
  16. G'day zrealist You print out the online receipt which is given when you pay and this is used as your temporary licence. Then, like mine, wait 3 - 4 days and you get the official licence in the mail. cheers Hooky
  17. No excuses for not been able to buy one either. Updated mine on the fisheries website on the weekend and it took all of 60 seconds to do and since I wasn't getting it from a tackle shop it saved me lots of money at the same time and saved some poor tackle shop owner his valuable time where he could be serving someone who wants to buy tackle instead of something of no value to him like a licence. Licence info OR Online licence payment cheers Hooky
  18. G'day Donna Could you please put my name on the list...........thankyou. cheers Hooky
  19. G'day Pete If you are using Firefox as your browser, it's just a matter of getting the "DownloadHelper" add-on and you can save most if not any YouTube vid there is. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006 Then just get the flv player and you're in business. http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/flv-player Hope this helps. Cheers Hooky
  20. I'd be interested, pending further info and suitability. cheers Hooky
  21. G'day Matt Thanks for the offer of pics but curiosity got the better of me and I went for a drive up to Lyell today, just got back. No fishing just looking. Went and checked out where I used to live and work many moons ago (Lithgow Small Arms Factory). Anyways, spoke to the caretakers' mother and she was saying that D.E are pumping out a heap of water on a daily basis and it is noticable every day. Other than that she said all was quiet on the fishing front. It was quite windy when I was there and the wind was swirling around in most of the protected bays that I looked at. Air temp was about 8 degrees and the wind chill factor must have been about zero.
  22. Cheers zook, thanks for that bit of info. I personally don't bother fishing Lyell in July/early to mid August for the reason you mentioned, too hot and cold. Unlike the weather, just cold but that's the best thing about it. Actually whilst I sit here and type I'm keen to drive there and back just for something to do. cheers Hooky
  23. G'day all I don't suppose if any of you are heading to Lake Lyell soon, or even this weekend, you may be able to take some pics of the water level at the moment? Just a few shots of different areas and especially the ramp and wall area and maybe up where the temporary ramp is situated and the other ramp and pontoon around in the bay up from it. I haven't ventured out there since the water levels have risen and probably won't get there for another 5 - 6 weeks or so. It's a big ask, I know, but much appreciated if at all possible. cheers Hooky
  24. Give it another six weeks Matt and the browns and rainbows will be jumping in the boat and at your feet.
  25. Thanks Stewy. Some boating/engine threads that show some merit and good info are nearly always swayed the wrong way by some people. Happens everywhere nowadays. G'day Roylo, not sure which is the quietest engine for trolling duties. For trolling duties I have never had a problem due to noise. I've been trolling up trout for around 20 years and all my previous tinnies have had old noisy two strokes and they haven't scared the fish away. I've noted fish on my sounder in two metres of water and still captured them as my lures tracked across them at around 20 metres behind my motor. I think the real issue for me nowadays is just to have a quiet motor to make things more peaceful when I'm trolling. So much better to be able to listen the radio/stereo and have a decent conversation when there is less motor noise. Let's not forget though, it really doesn't matter what motor you have on when you are travelling at WOT. The wind, the motor and the water smacking the boat is just as noisy as an old two stroke. cheers Hooky
