  1. Here's one that I captured and enjoy. Taken whilst motoring out of the mouth of the Lansdowne river and looking towards Cattai Creek.
  2. Onya Jorg. Does this mean Greg will fit your boat out with a toaster and coffee machine for those early comp starts? Personally I'd just make you work longer hours. Cya at Taree.

    Lake St Clair

No worries Jorg Just testing the water at the moment. Not sure bream or bass. At worst I will just book a motel room when it gets closer.
  4. G'day Wetpatch I had the old paint corrosion problems on my old tinnie as well. Now with my new boat, like you, I put Sikaflex on just about everything I attach to it. cheers Hooky

G'day Jorg This is all I have found so far........ Country Acres Caravan Park http://www.countryacres.com.au/ Maison Dieu Rd Singleton NSW 2330 Telephone: (02) 6572 2328 Rating: ** or Singleton Caracourt Caravan Park Cnr Bridgman Rd Dunolly Singleton NSW 2330 Telephone: (02) 6572 2886 Rating: *** I'm interested in accomm at St Clair/Singleton as well. Still tossing up between Manning bream or St Clair bass but at this stage am leaning towards bass. I'm not really interested in camping, knowing how quick the weather can turn in that area. Pencil me in if you end up looking for people to share the accommodation with. cheers Hooky
  6. Great link there Ross. Don't suppose you've found a similar site that has '07 Yammie F60C info and service manual stuffs?
  7. Good to see credit where it's due. Huey certainly is very helpful and freely gives out advice where needed. Even though some don't see eye to eye with motor choices, Huey still shows an interest in everything boating that gets thrown up on the boards. I'm even thinking of taking my '07 Stacer over to him for the 50 hour servicing this winter even though I'd need an overnight bag it would be worth it I reckon. cheers Hooky
  8. G'day roosterman. I've just installed a dual system in my boat (not with a vsr system) and as far as the second battery goes I went for a "Supercharge Allrounder", the MRV50. They are a deep cycle battery and crank battery in one. http://linux.supercharge.com.au/products_s..._allrounder.php I have one in my 4WD as well and they certainly are a great benefit to have. In my boat I use the Allrounder as the house battery and secondary crank battery due to it's deep cycle and cranking capabilities and as my main I use the standard seamaster gold. http://linux.supercharge.com.au/product_detail.php?seq=72 Good luck cheers Hooky
  9. Good stuff there....... Had similar luck myself on Saturday. A good bag of whiting from the same spot, along with flatties. Also found the rat kingies wanting to play, whilst collecting livies we had a school of rats hanging around for a half hour taking our bait jigs for a run. Great fun on the light gear and hand lines.
  10. Good to see you got a ride for the tourny. The tides are very much the same as the Squidgies tourny with a bit of run in the water. I know where you'll be............. I didn't have any plans for the weekend BUT NOW on Saturday and Saturday night and Sunday morning till about 8.00am I might head out to Botany Bay with three mates and catch (and I do mean catch) a bag limit of bream each.................. After 8.00am I might pull out the ski tube, jet ski and wake board................. Other than that, I'll be at home fitting up the deckwash hose system on my new boat and installing the interior lights and some power outlets. Gee's, can't wait to use the boat. Had it for 6 months and only got 16 hours on the motor. Bloody work and crap weather......... Have a good weekend Raiders. cheers Hooky

G'day tricky Try this link and click on the boat for a short movie.......... GC Fishing I'm pretty sure Fishraider member "Heath" still has something to do with the GC Fishing website. He may help you more but I think the link will help you out with info. cheers Hooky
  12. Installing a dual battery system in my boat and also hoping to get out for a quick session on the bay over the weekend if time permits.
  13. That's why I decided on shopping OS and buying a PDA with GPS. A PDA with GPS to me is so much more versatile than a normal incar GPS thingy. On my PDA I'm using TomTom for the roads and OziCE for offroad. Have played around with OziCE on the water and does the job nicely, not that I bother too much with it as I also have a chartplotter in the boat. Don't need a case of technology overload. Basically, as long as you have a scaled map OziCE will do most things you want. Especially offroad. cheers Hooky.
  14. I'll second that. Thanks to Fishraider for the opportunity to do the course. I highly reccommend anyone, fishing club/boating club etc, thinking of doing the course to get in touch with Bob or Harry and give it a go. They are both highly professional men with a great deal of knowledege. My advise would be to do the MVROCP as it covers 27meg, VHF, MF/HF. Much more to cover but well worth it. cheers Hooky.
  15. Yay, got mine. 86% Don't know which ones I got wrong but if they were the important "Mayday" ones I would suggest to everyone not to call a "Mayday" if I'm on the water. Over!!! Hooky.
  16. I've never experienced it (touch wood) but I have driven the road between home and the mid north coast a million times and it is just amazing how many times I have seen fools pulled over on the side of the freeway etc because of flat tyres, busted stub axles and bent axles etc and 99% of the time they have the bloody boat filled to the gunwhales and higher with all the kids bikes, the groceries/grog, the fridge and anything else they can shove in it. Deadset, holiday time just makes people do silly things. A boat trailer is just that, a boat trailer. Like all trailers, a boat trailer has it's weight limit and that limit is usually taken up by the weight of the boat itself. Yes, throw the rods and tackle boxes etc in the boat but throw the bikes on the roof of the car (weight permitting) or if possible on the back of the car. Everything else, if possible, in the boot. If you don't have the room in the car just leave it at home.
  17. Good onya. I'll vote for it. Good fish, good feed. That's why we spend good money on fishing gear and watercraft to feed ourselves some fresh fish. BTW, This thread is a great example as to why I don't bother putting up fishing reports anymore.
  18. I haven't heard anything positive about the Territorys' since they first came out. Personally I'd steer clear of them, but that's just my opinion.
  19. http://www.datadotdna.com/ Anyone have an opinion?? Surely better than the boatcode system.
  20. Me too!! And yes he's still around. I spoke to my old man today to try and get him to go down in the 4by to take some more pics but couldn't get him to budge. From what I believe the diggers are only doing their biannual reduction of the sand dunes, ie height, near the opening. Unless someone went down and threw a slab of beer or two near the surf line and told the operator to fetch it in his digger with the bucket in the sand dragging behind him I don't think you'll see it opened up. Personally I don't think that entrance will ever be opened up naturally and it will take some heavy duty lobbying to get it mechanically opened. I'd be more concerned with the proposed additions for Rushby Casino meself.
  21. Not much to report on about the flats around the Old Bar entrance but the snapper are still biting at a few of the inshore reefs and still were on the weekend. As for the entrance, here's some info. Just the usual "to and fro-ing". http://taree.yourguide.com.au/detail.asp?story_id=1070079
  22. Yes, well done to the organisers and the hosts. Certainly learnt a heap of new stuffs today. It was a veeeeery loooooong day, trust me . Have fun with the batteries BalmainBob, I'm off to sort out my .5 scalene triangles. Roger......Over and out............. PS, after such a loooong day I would deadset want to pass this course.
  23. If you're in the Penrith council area of ratepayers you are able to get a key for "keeps" upon paying a small deposit. Just contact Penrith council.
  24. Great stuff men. I was up there for three days with "the boys" about three and a half weeks ago and was lucky to get fish, as was the case with most of the fisho's up there on that weekend. Seems I was a bit early and that was my thoughts at the time I arrived. Only trolled for two laps for the three days and threw some rubber around for a bit. In the end I decided to put the feet up and relax by the campfire. Gee it's great to see the Squidgies brand putting the runs on the board and not just on the trout or bream. Deadset, when it comes to their SP range, they are the best allround plastic you can get and they are so much more durable then the gulps. Anyways, great read, thanks. cheers Hooky
