cheers Huey the motor belongs to a family friend they bought it new in 89 and it has done only 6 hrs per year but for the last 4 years it has only been kicked over for 10 min every 4 months but had a yearly service is there anything else i should look for? and what would it cost to do these works you mentioned Thanks Adzzy

Hi raiders i have been experimenting with fresh water yabbies as bait in salt water over the last year or so and had some really good results and have stared breeding them at home so now i have my own fresh live supply of bait i even have a few mates that come around and take the big ones using them on kings and jews personaly ive never been succesful with the jews and kings on anything but i have seen their success they will stay alive in salt water hooked through the tail for half hour ive experimented in a bucket because i could never get one to last that long on a hook the fish just snapped them up you dont even need a live bait tank as they will survive in a damp esky for days try it you will be surprised beats spending hours trying to find and catch livies cheers adzzy

Thats my thoughts outside the pontoons is public inside is private so i will continue to fish there until i get an official warning or fine specially if it can produce me more fish like that on light gear heaps of fun Adzzy

How far does it continue into the river or is it just within the mariner because i have seen people fishing off the wall at birken head for years at all hours Adzzy

I have never heard that before if that was the case there should be signs and that sounds liike the same way i fish for trevs Cheers

Hi Qwyjibo I can do better and give you the exact spot on the point opposite kissing point wharf ( i wouldnt call it the harbour though ) i have been catching them there for years and caught plenty this size each one as tasty as the last, and NO i do not feel ill or mutated in any way cheers Adzzy

Hi All knocked of work early yesterday so decided to wet a line at Birken Head flicking the marina on about the 10th cast caught my Pb bream 44cm and about 2kg on 6bl braid on the return trip home stopped to pick up my trap i had dropped on way out for another Pb this time a huge muddy about 2-3 kg so have decided to knock of work early more often from now on should i add the bream to the brag board or catch of the month? adzzy

Thanks heaps for your info pelican that was my thoughts and i have done the same thing on other boats i have bought in the past and never had a problem or bad reading except for the throttle butterflies didnt know that now i can rub my mates face in it cause i'm right it is approx an 86-88 model 2 stroke thanks once again Adzzy

Hi Raiders I am looking to buy a second hand outboard and have had debates with a few mates regarding compression testing the argument is that all plugs do or do not need to be removed for this test does anyone have educated knowledge on this matter motor is 100hp yammy 2 stroke cheers Adzzy

I would love to upgrade motor from 70 yammy to at least a 115 ETEC and land my first jew and king dont even care if under sized sounds pretty poor i know after reading the other posts of raiders wanting a 10 kg plus jew or king if anyone can help would love to learn you could come on my boat or i can follow cheers Adzzy

Mate i use 15-20 turns max never had a problem always lube the line after the twist cheers Adzzy

Well hello all long time reader first time writer so here it goes thought i would share my sightings with you all and confirm that the kings are around the casino, i do some work at wharf 7 beside where the James Craig docks and arrived there at about 8am this morning.I was gazing out my window as you do with such a nice view when in the corner of my eye i saw the water being chopped up so i got out the binoculars and there they where what a sight pitty i didnt have a rod or i would have had a early lunch break .
