That is one monster King Very unusual to catch kingies in the dark they usual can't see a thing and if they ever do get hungry and want to hunt i think it would be by smell that kingie is one greedy fish taking such a small piece off squid A.dAWg~~~

Should have stayed in the rain straight after the rain in the hacking fish go crazy The huge tailors and bonnies come out and also the kingies and bream and especially squid Cheer A.dawg~~~

I went to an Aquarium at hurstville on forest road yesterday and they sell them for 135$$ I asked the guy why they are so expensive its not like they are beautiful or anything because they sell clown fish for relativley cheap at 40$ they guy said they are easy to keep and can eat parasites and worms from the water just like a filter A.dawg~

Ouch~ that looks very painful But thats some nice fish all on lures Wish i can get that many whitting on lures CHeers A.dawg~~~

Thats looks fat and juicy Good work I've never targeted blackfish specifically but have caught them as a by-catch and they dont taste that good but My question is why do people cut the blackfishes head at the top??? A.dawg~~~

With the Port hacking being so clear the fish are easily spooked but if you fish at places like ballast heap and other sand flats and not the main channels then the fish are herded straight to you A.dawg~~~

Rented a boat for 4 hours at the hacking sat 20-12-08 Ended up fishing 2 1/2 hours First stop a drop off near the baths down goes fresh squid head up comes a monster ray on my brother line which took a good 30mins to surface before seeing it and cutting it off immediatley So move to the morred boats thinking this may be my chance a a troll 2 minutes after the christmas tree lure gets hit stop the boat see a beautifull tailor but the jumps off the hook christmas tree lure was fully demolished with no more feathers But first time trolling? 2 minutes on a fish well stopped the boat there and had a fish since there was heavy rain coming sheltered under the canopy for about 10 minutes till the rain stopped and boy did that make the fish fire up Dad caught undersized snapper immediatley while reeling it up he found the trace as too long and the fish was still on the surface of the water and guess wut A few big squid following it Down goes the squid jigs not taking it back up put some secret ingrediant on the jig bam on to a few Put down a live squid hoping for some kingie but no taker only ended up with lots off undersized snapper with one being 29cm and yakkas a big blue swimmer and squid On the way back did another troll and saw lots off people fishing off gunnamatta baths. Hooked up again trolling but this time deep dive and snapped in less than 10 seconds guessing it was a kingie But off the boat we were pumped and still wanted to fish so drove over to the baths and what a good idea it was immediatley getting slimmey to 500g on 2 lb line Getting busted alot off times and about 15 squid there and 2 thumper bream to 39cm but the slimmeys very picker no sabiki jigs no sinker no floats onli light line tied to a tiny hook with a tiny piece of squid very annoying because off all the sweep there bait is gone before a slimmey can take it hook a slimmey 1/20th of the time here are the pics Cheers A.Dawg~~~

The texture is like toilet paper taste is about the same but the texture makes it crab i would only eat it on the day unless making congee with it A.dawg~~~

I do get bream on live poddy mullet and small yakka's but in the georges river a few weeks ago had a 32cm tailor out for a livie and reel in a 24cm bream undersized with the hook swallowed down deep!!! My theory is the livie got off the hook with a piece off wherever u hooked it stuck on the hook so the very hungry bream take it A.dawg~~~

Will be heading out to the hacking for a squid session 2morro for about 2 hours before sunset till dusk maybe see you's out there still deciding where to go lilli pilli baths, wally's wharf or gymea baths A.dAwg~~~

No myth just havn't hooked one myself but have seen them.... I walk along the place casting SX-40's trying for bream and you can see them follow your lures but are too shy have seen others catch it once or twice but have only fished there half a dozen times Cheers A.dawg~~~

Went out to the georges landbased today aiming at a few flatties. Friend invited me to his house for lunch and said we'll try catch a few fish for lunch :D He's a real good cook Well a took with me my soft plastic rod a livebaiting for and a generel purpose rod to catch bream, flathead or whatever was around. For bait we had bread, The squid and a few pillies. Out goes a squid strip and the plastic 3" powerbait in pumpkin seed and i think foul hooked a litle mullet... Out he goes on the livebaiting rod and keep flicking the plastic until ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Up come a big bream on 2lb line at 38cm well thats lunch Out goes another strip another bream at 37cm out another strip and ZZZZZZZZZZ..... 5 mins after got a good look at a thumper trevally guessing 40cm ++++ and snap!!! well last squid strip and on a 39cm whiting What a day packed everything up and only kept the two bream my friend left first to take photos and prepare lunch while i tried to get something decent to finish the day off.... 10 minutes KAPPOW!!!! The livie has been hit short fight land the 80cm+++ flatties my friend left and he had the ruler didnt want to take her back because she was full off eggs REally fat.... So layed it beside my rod to get a rough measurement..... Sorry no pics off the flatties but my friend will send me the photoes off the bream and i will upload them asap Cheers A.dawg~~~

Azn??? LOL See im chinese and i know chinese people love keeping anyfish they can eat its just not good at all When i started fishing i caught undersized bream my mum will tell me take it home wuts the point of fishing then. But now my mum tells me dont take home any flathead under 50cm and no bream under 35cm Because the fridge has enough fish for the whole year I think we need more fisherie guys as i havnt seen any lately not even checking me since about 10 months ago A.dawg~~~

Converted the beautiful squid into zip... nothing but like 100 toadies and 3 25cm golden trevallys dont know the size limit and looked like there was no feed coming out off them so back in the drink.... but going to try convert the squid into some bream 2morro Cheers A.dawg~~~

Gunna go for a landbased session tomorrow so went at 8:00 to the hacking today to get some bait.... Arrived at dusk First cast bang 1 lil squid 3 more casts bang another and another after evry 3 casts..... My casts take realllyyyyyyy long to retrieve so after 40 mins left with 13 squid and 1 cuttle fish First time taking my friend squiding so all the calamari goes to him for a feed and a few arrows for my bait 2morro....... Sorry no pics not worth taking of the lil arrows but if you want squid they are on fire!!!! today yesterday and the day before catch squid without fail.... Cheers A.dawg~~~

Bream, bass, mullet, flatties and as said lots off blackfish If i go for flatties at maianbar then i get my poddies on hooks here Doesnt take too long either A.dawg~~~

the squid at this time off the year are all babies or some huge ginormous ones still alive but gunna dye soon... Wut i'd do is to burley with pillies and bread crumbs very fine mix and use a SX-40 and change the middle trebble into a size 16 trebble these things are tiny and can hook up squid really good.... This way u catch fish and those tiny squiddies but they arnt as good as squid jigs although the squid dont seem to be taking them atm Cheers A.dawg~~~

I heard they grow really fast at the start off the lives up till about wen they are 70-80cm before there growth slows down A.dawg~~~

Catching catfish is better than catching nothing Actually i think they put up an ok fight so for the sport is pretty good. As too on the teeth My mum being asian will try eatting anything. caught a huge catfish a few weeks ago and she takes it home and cooks it fish curry... i took 1 nibble and spat it back out ended up chucking out the whole dish Tastes like crap and i dont even know y she wanted to try eatting it wen the fridge is already full off flatties and bream Trust me u dont want to try it althoguh the indians hav a special recipe which gets rid off the smell is what i heard Cheers A.dawg~~~

Some guy at some tackle shop some time ago told me the vanish leader and the canish line is the sme stuff just different packaging to make it sound good so u buy two seperate ones line and leader and just a technique berkley uses to sell more of there stuff ...I mean there both made ou of fluorocarbon right??? so wuts the difference Dont know wut he said is roght though Cheers a.dawg~~~

i dont know about youz but i find unless you catch your own squid it doesnt work... I've tried from frozen to fish markets and even the 40$$ a kilo local squid which some shops say were caught on the day or the da before and have never been frozen... Just doesnt work you can leave the squid out there all night without anibble and have a frozen pillie which works better than the squid

Vanish is not good with fishes which hide under structure i find it wears out alot quicker than the japanese fluorocarbons. Used a brand called takoytsu fluorocarbon and this stuff is strong tough and soft. 6lb flurocarbon and i can land everything from blackfish to some massive tailor not ddoing any damage to the line even though it swallowed the whole hook down. Vanish in the other hand lse too many lures to tailor even on 20lb. So if you can i find any the japanese stuff is what u wanna get CHeers A.dawg~~~
