  1. Nice boat mate id love a set up like that. As for looking after gear like what was said earlier on in this post is to give a wash with fresh water and use Innox or Lanox (pretty sure its the same thing?) after spraying it with the innox or lannox put the reel away from ur clothes and give it a wind so it doesnt clog up the reel and get all crappy if u dont fish for a while. and Also every few months either give your reels a service yourself or take them to a tackle shop and have them serviced. If you do it yourself you can put a water proof lubricant around the gear and all those parts to protect it a little more. Hope this helps Cheers Cory
  2. Woke up at 5.30 this morning and went down to the lake to try and catch some live bait, didnt have much luck there, ended up with two poddy mullet lol so i stopped and grabbed a bag of Pilchads on the way to the beach. Headed on to Budgewoi beach at my normal spot and set up, Didnt really get any bites on the pilly gang hook rig or the live poddy so i just sat back and enjoyed the sun rise pretty much as seen in the pic below. After about im guessing an hour or so of no bites finally the pilly rig went off and i landed a small Bream, Big enough to keep for a feed tho, after that i didnt get anything else and got sick of it and went home, but 1 fish is better then none i think. Cheers Cory
  3. Hey mate Casting them at First can be hard and require practice but once you get the hang of it the benefits are great. When im out beach fishing i take my 12 Foot Spinning rod and a 5 Foot 6 Over head both with 25Lb Mono on them and the Overhead can easyily outcast the spin rod with little effort. The main tip i can give you is to keep your finger on the spool even when casting because if you take it fully off your bound to get a birds nest, Although ive found when using 25Lb Mono on my Overhead i can take my finger off safely most of the time. 10. Thanks mate ill check that out most likely end up targeting flatties, bream and whiting. I do have beach gear, thats what sort of fishing i do mostly, ill take that gear but most likely end up walking around the flats because i feel like a little bit of a change but its always good to have a back up plan! cheers Cory

Gday all Ive lived on the Central coast all my life but never seriously fished the Entrance and i was thinking of getting out there this thursday or friday and i was wondering if anyone could tell me where any good land based spots are out there and when to fish them like on high or low tide. 13. Not sure about the tail, it was actually the first salmon i caught and i did not even know what it was until i got home because once i got the hook out i snapped a quick pic and got him back in the water so he would hopefully be released safely

  15. Hey all Went out this morning, got to the beach at about 6am or just before sunrise. Started off using some Squid i caught a few nights back and caught a decent sized Tailor roughly 40 Cms i think (pic below). Got sick of using squid so i changed to Servo Pillies which i caught a smaller Tailor on and threw back, after that there wasnt much action for a while until i started seeing some Dolphins cutting through the waves out the back, after watching the dolphins swim past i hooked up to a decent salmon and landed it which i threw back aswell. Stoped fishing around 9am. Tailor i kept Dolphins Salmon Cheers Cory

    Sea Kittens?

lol i hate cats, if fish were to be called Seakittens then i guess i would never throw any back. Just kidding but it really is a stupid name for a fish, if anything all its good for is a Laugh
  24. Down the road from my house there is a Jetty that has a light on it, of a night all i do is put a squid jig on with a float on it, and have the squid jig fairly close to the top so i can see it in the water. Just wait and give it a few jingles every now an then, when the squid come around they will attack it and u just have to try to pull them up onto the jetty from there. Cheers Cory
  25. Wow Mate, thats a great fish! Good work cheers Cory
