  1. A great write up there Donna, thanks to everyone who made this great event possible.

    Congrats to all the winners!!!,

I will be back next year but will need to plan a little better as I only decided to join the social at the very last minute.

If only I had my tinny with me it would have made it easier to board the mothership,

It was great to meet some of the members also including yourself & Stewy.

    Regards,

    Nathan

  2. Team Scratchie, some real nice photos there and I must say I personally was very impressed at just how keen you all are It was that cold for me I could not even sit down towards the end of the night but you guys just kept on going. you guys have something real special going on there!!! as a kid I was always keen on fishing but My family did not share my interst and it was a rare occasion that we got out.. I hope you catch a few more before the end of the holidays!!!

    Well done once again,

    Regards,

    Nathan

Not a bad pre-fish! I will not be weighing the hairtail in obviously and will donate them to fisheries. But the Flatty will be lunch today :)

We let about 4 or so go as well. They were biting all through the night up to 730am. We also caught 3 jew which were released.

There's some big hairies out there I got dusted twice on 30lb!

Look forward to meeting you all.

    Cheers scratchie!!!

Nice Scratchie, looking forward to meeting all of you also!!!

Hopefully the fishing is this good all weekend as I am not going to be on the water till tomorrow morning!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  5. Hi JD

As promise I send the end of my fishing in Maroubra.

I'm still there but for 5 hours I cacth only a flathead.

    I don't know so upset

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No Need to be upset, the fact that you were out there in these conditions having a go and catching a flattie is a success in my book.

you sound very keen, don't give up mate keep at it and you will catch fish.

is it only Australian salmon you want or is there anything else?

Instead of just fishing the beaches with pillies practice catching squid there's plenty of piers that you can go just be sure to follow the rules if you're on a ferry wharf, I used to catch a few squid off Jeffrey street ferry wharf, not sure if its still allowed to be fished off but it was a good spot.

not sure what you're local spots are like but if you master the art of catching squid you can cut them into strip baits when beach fishing and you will be in a chance of getting jewwies aswell as your salmon, tailor etc.

They are out there at the moment some good ones also I caught 3 the other night for bait for the social, the hard part is keeping them hidden from the mrs as she will cook them LOL.

    Regards,

    Nathan

  6. I remember you telling me to get squid!

I preserved them like you said.

Bit of salt water, in the freezer...

I'm starting to get hungry and feel like squid though haha

You will be more satisfied with a Jewwie then a Squid, hopefully you catch a Jew and have a couple spare squid to go with it!!!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  7. Congratulations Fabian, hopefully you get 353k out of it lol!!!

The Cars being built now are not the same as the older ones, they have more electrics and all that crap that eventyually causes issues, have fun learning how to fix it!!! I hope you at least you should get 7 years trouble free motoring!!!!

As you know my 2013 Mazda has barely got 50k on it and its making more engine noise then my 1997 Corolla, lets hope I can get it sorted and it lives as long as your Daewoo has!!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  8. wow you are keen!!! I like it lets work something out towards the end of the week, Saturday Night tides may work with your finish time high tide in the parra river is around midnight so if we are a couple hours before that it may be worth going fishing. send me a pm if you want to go and we can tee something up.

    Regards,

    Nathan

  9. Ive seen people drive their boats on their trailers many times, I am not one of them but there are people that know what they are doing and definatly ones that dont I think it doesnt matter how you retrieve your boat as long as you know how to do it both safely and without harming the environment go for it. just my 5 cents worth. keep the awesome posts coming Fabian!!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  10. Handy tip there fabian, will keep this in mind when I have a bigger boat for now my rope is all I need as I just beach the boat have a rope permanently attached to the boat which I tie either to the pontoon or tree until I back the trailer up but for bigger boats this will come in handy.

    Regards,

    Nathan
