I have a 6.5m half cab that came with skids. I have since replaced skids with rollers and its alot easier to launch and retrieve - the only downside is that you get a bit of bounce when driving. Its my belief thats skids are made for lightweight aluminium boats, not heavy glass boats. For centering i use Easy guides which centre the boat very easily - all up close to a grand to do but well worth the money.

Ive had the same experience in the hawkesbury. Live nippers def increase your chances. I have friends that generally get a few in the hawks but they sit in the same spot from dawn to dusk.

I looked at one of these but the price turned me off a bit, around $600.00. Am thinking it would be worth it, just sick of feeding the bottomless pit with money lol Bring On Another Thousand

Hi All, motor ( 2000 115 johno ) seized on me yesterday ( thanks to the guy who towed me from lion island to patonga if your on here) Anyway pulled head off anf found a holed piston and bore scratches. Am thinking i might pull it down myself and get a rebore or new sleeve and piston and rings. Any ideas guys? Also noted sand and gravel in the cooling ports of block so am thinking that might have caused piston to hole? Any comments would be appreciated.

If your after epoxy, look up Megapoxy, located in Thornleigh. They are a manufacturer of epoxy systems and are a lot chepaer than buying from a boat shop.

Hia fishheads, Im Umina based with a 6.3 mtr halfcab without crew (sick of mates letting me down). Prefer outside fishing but all swell dependent, i have limited fishing knowledge but am learning quickly. Would love a few late arvo trips during the week before daylight savings finishes and weekend trips. If interested let me know Thanks Justin
