  1. questions like this get asked a lot. My advice always is to first work out a particular species you would like to target and go from there. I never just fish with the hope that something good will climb on, I am always targetting a particular species

PS just read mondos post and he has said exatly that  lol

bashir is spot when saying to target a specie.

by the way mate as you are coming through pittwater on your way to flint and steel there is a live bait ground known as west head where you can pick up live baits there and also puts you in with a great chance of picking up other fish such as kings bonito and other sought after species

  2. your allwoed in the park but you will be locked in at ATB. the rangers do come through in the mornings and do charge you with another $11 charge for the new day.

    no fines.

i think they close the gates at sunset and re open them at sunrise

  3. I FREQUENT PATONGA FOR A FEED AND I VE COME ACROSS PLENTY OF SUSS LOOKING FELLAS DOWN THERE AND DEFINATELY A FEW DRUGO PEOPLE DOWN THERE, AS IVE BEEN ASKED SEVERAL TIMES IF I WAS AFTER ANYTHING.

MAYBE TRY PARKING IN THE STREETS IN THE FUTURE AS ITS ONLY A SHORT STROLL TO THE BOAT RAMP YET IN THE SAFETY OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

  4. They should have known the hazards

i agree to disagree i think rock fishos should be more scrutinised in regrads to fishing off the rocks.

more people die from rock fishing in australia than any other sport in australia.

    1 death every 6 weeks.

more education is needed before these un educated people jump on these death traps

  5. James - if you're not getting much info from the mags then you're not reading them right!!

There's plenty of great tips in most mags that I've read - although it does depend a bit on how knowlegable the reader is (i.e. the more you already know the less you'll get out of the mags).

mate i read them right i reckon they are just filled with repetative rubbish, in some cases you find there is good info but most of the time they are old reports that are little help when published

most of the time the local reporters are from charter operators and fishing shops i think its very hard to take those reports serious as they would be vary bias to there areas.

if they help you thats good for you but im sure you will eventually catch on

Well they are running a business afterall, take out the ads and we'd be paying $30 an issue

na mate there bottom line is not my problem and certain ads are ok but when nearly every page has an ad then its just a little to much and excessive.

  6. not good at all mate.

when in the river you can call hawkesbury river rescue who are a volunteer organisation, so they welcome donations.

but they are great and if you are not a member of sea tow i guess thats your other option.

    how is his boat anyway?

    no major damage?

  7. i normally get fishing monthly and fishing world, but never take em to serious alot of information is distorted and not much information is being given at the end of the day,

and in true fishing mags style advertisements everwhere.
