  1. last week i fished with a fishraider raider name james ds but our time was not as productive as today outing so i did not post about it any how i did the same with beginner last night i decided i would pm beginner to go for a fish today i the parra river towards the harbour bridge he said sure why not my aim was to get my first kingie ever its funny how things change i had not fished with beginner before so i said ill pick you up on the way through at 715am we get to our livebait area at 815ish try for yakkas could not manage even to sight one packed up drove to another area we try again i catch a bream and a baby snapper still no yakkas i could see nathans face this aint working so i said we'll fish with what we got in baits i generally carry a good variety of baits and nath had pillies finally we get to the fishing spot around 9am it was rather quiet with showers on and off till nathan and his mighty new katana 2-4kg matched with a slade sneer this flattie 46 cms his new PB on a pillie tale took us for what felt like forever to land as nathan had thin leader on .lens on camera was foggy . then i get to the action with my light gear with this warped aka bitten bream was fat lil one too at 30 cms was caught on PP which i turned in to this yummy baked bream in lemon and herb and cajun spices then nathan answers back with a flounder of either 33 or 31cms than later as tide runs out we had a rods sitting as do then nathan aka beginner checks his katana bang theres a 50cms flattie just holding on to his bait for him two mins later and numerous head shakes later hes netted nathan new 'new PB two PBs in one day top effort nathan anyhow nathan being the nice fellow he is gives me his first flattie from earlier in the day to take home hey nath fresh baked bream tastes great it was a pleasure anytime you wanna go for a fish just let me know
  2. that pic cracked me up awesome effort 3 king from the yak and a squid on the way home
  3. he looks pretty happy with that flattie and his new pb
  4. i caught this yesterday while fishing balmain i called it for a dusky due to it having a rounded nose area not flat like im used to seeing its was just undersize for a dusky so i let it go but legal if it was a sand flattie after looking online im not so sure
  5. at least he preped his neck earlier before the incident sounds like a fun session on the vibes i dont use mine much and have only caught a small snapper on them
  6. welcome patchy filling in your location will tell others what wharfs are close to you if there are any but like nathan / beginner said they will be busy mike
  7. hope the victim buys himself a lotto ticket it could have easily torn his Achilles open
  8. nathan the set up is a 7 foot ugly stick tiger 10-50lb running yellow 30lb braid on a penn 560 live liner rig standard running rig no5 ball sinker with 20lb fluro carbon trace to a 2/0 big gun tied with a uni knot i use sliding snells when i have squid on but this rod had a fish bait on it
  9. james i wasn't fishing any of the wharfs you mentioned ill try any of them with you its always good to have a fisho to help with that fish of a lifetime ill pm you but was thinking mon or tuesday morn fish or if not we'll sort it out ive just started fishing the area so many places to fish i once worked close to snails bay and though i would fish the wharf near the fields so i did with sps nothing caught but it was worth a try Nathan ive read your posts on the kings cracker posts then your post with tide n knots with jews seems like your on fire i dont know if it was a king or not the hook up was on a 6-10 kg 7 footer rod but i did not feel any head shaking but ive never hooked or caught a king so i dont know if they head shake or not all i know my live liner was screamin and an other fisho telling me my reel was screaming but the time i got there and picked up the rod my line was in the pylons days fishin next time i go hopefully i may have fresher squid and an going to definitely going to have a floating bait about mike
  10. 187 views and still no response i cant really comment other than that i got the feel for the snapper raider in the shop which i was going to buy i would not be casting it out with large sinkers its quite sensitive its more of a boaters rod plastics , general fishing it would be great just stay with in its weight range i ended up getting something very similar with out the price tag that the raider 2 has sorry i cant really help ill assume your landbased can someone help the young bloke out
  11. i hear your disgust i was fishing at a wharf today when an older lady came to fish aswell but when she left she left her rubbish i clean it up but its not the point undersize fish really get on my nerve it may get me i trouble on day let alone the garbage fisheries usually target boaters dont they as they have more to gain and more to lose the lb fisherman can get away with murder its a joke
  12. i normally dont bore others with unsuccessful trips but this one was okay in my eyes as i usually dont catch much the target was for the day was to catch my first king i felt inspired by all the reports any how started at a wharf in balmain at about 530 am armed with bonito strips ,salted slimies <pillie size>and a box Californian squid and bread for burly quickly whacked 3 rods out and started to burly for yakkas cound not manage to even find or have a yakka turn up instead it was small tailor first 1 then 3 then the hoards came over in the space of an hour and they stayed all morning not a yakka insight to cut it short saw a few large tailor and big mullet about 40cms and the highlight being the 3 kings that showed up and at the time i was flicking this thing around but alas they did not go for it some time goes by and i catch a small snapper a couples min later my 6-10kg rod goes off but the time i get there what ever it was is under the pylons i toyed with it for a min or so only to find i have no hook i re rig it then pop it in the same spot then it goes off again a few mins later but i bring in an eel i think the earlier tussle may have been an eel also any how my stories over i had a nice day out mike
  13. sounds like you had a ball your efforts paid off thats for sure nice rat king too mike
  14. bingo your first legal king what out fit did you catch it on nathan mike

  16. congrats on your kingie nathan you deserve it and for doing the the right thing releasing her mate i've seen people take undersize kings from what i believe but i can't be sure and that was on my last outing landbased some people just don't care mike
