desmond Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Hi, every1 im new to the site. Since reading this site, i got stuck on this soft plastic fishing, and seeing that iron cove is a good place to start thought i would give it a go 2 weeks ago. I started down there about 1pm and fished constantly for 4hrs with nothing.. occasional bites, then as the sun was nearly gone, bang got a hit, no bites just straight hit n pulled up a bream about 36cm long, released and continued with 2 lost and lots of bites but no hookups.. I was wondering does ic fire up during the day at all?? im heading back there today... should i only fish night there? Also i have a about a 4mtr tinnie with a 40hp on it if anyone with local knowlodge would like to join me in catching some pelegics sometime... Thanks SydneyFisho
Luringbream Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Theres plenty of fish to be had during daylight, some of the best fishing happens in daylight. Try to focus on tides rather than time of day. Im also a local and have always done great on a run out tide and wading the flats at low tide also produces the goods. I often target pelagics however the salmon are a bit slow to show up and where they have they have been very thin. In the next few weeks they should arrive in massive numbers, cant wait! DAN
DaveD Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 (edited) I ended up there in the evening till just after sunset. Nice place, damn cold though today Didn't manage anything but a small bream following my lure at one point. I was using a charteuse lure with a 2.0grm/#4 jighead. How did you guys go? I did end up seeing 3 solid splashes in the water with the fish teasing us. (This was my first time using my flick stick and actually using lures on a light rod/reel combo. Not sure if I was doing anything wrong or if it was just a bad day. Any pointers would help a lot.) EDIT: if anyone saw me, I was the fellow wearing the fishraider beanie Edited August 4, 2007 by AmateurDave

DaveD Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Wattos or Fishfinder Tony. Send them a PM and they can either send you out with a minor postage fee or can purchase one at their stores. Not sure if they're in stock at the moment so PM would be the best way to go.
desmond Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 (edited) I was down the today till about 5pm.. Tried up past the bridge on parra side not city... Nothin one hook up n lost.
