Im just wondering if anyone targets snapper and mowies of a night time? Or do you or have you targeted any other reef species of a night for that matter?

DAN

Hi dan im sure there are a few species..... but the species that i have fished

for and that have responded well..... in the night time

being...snapper, jewfish, trag, and surprise for me but at the time were kingfish....

...the area were the kingies were responsive was at that reef in close straight

out in front of the lighthouse at barrenjoey...(familiar with it ????) call it spot x

and they bit for hours after dark..........

Cheers Warnie.........

I too am organising a night time reef/gravel session just outside botany heads.

DAN

Hey Dan

i have got to tell you this....... i had the oppertunity just recently and fished out

wide (near browns mnt) its a totaly surreal feeling out there in the night any how

in the outside edges were the lights hit the water...you could see squid darting

to and fro normal you would say.........

except the average size of these squid were 4ft plus............

no !!!!!!!! im not telling porkies and yes take your squid jig with you....

Cheers Warnie..........

Was it a reef you were fishing at night Warnie or just near Brown's?

IFS

IFS....no.... not a reef as such that paticular night we were about mid way between browns and heatons

we were attempting to catch a broadbill ......

incidently i was teaseing these squid with whole mullet they would grab it.....

and dart away......it was like being connected to a mach truck. :tease:

the idea behind the madness being floodlights were shone on the water to deliberatly

attract the squid......I just didn't expect to encounter calamari on steroids........

Warnie.....
