Ray R
Hi Raiders, went around the rocks today around midday, after checking that the conditions were smicko I ventured around to the ledge, and began spinning with a plastic. Didn't take to long before I was into some nice bonnies, heaps of fun on my sol and pfluger supreme combo. The bonnies were running up and down the ledge and hook ups were quite frequent and there were some small mack tuna amongst them as well, I also scored a couple of small kings, they were heaps of fun, one on the plastic and one on the x-rap. So after spinning up 25 or so of these fellows, I decided to have a break and fish the bottom, so I rigged up the bigger gear and hoiked out a nice slab of horsie, as soon as it hit the bottom the bites started, first 2 fish were small reddies and then something larger latched on to it, I struck him and reeled in a beaut flattie, very happy cause this completed the arvo as now I have bait, berley and some dinner. I was joined around there by 'COMMITTED' Matt, and 'smashed crab' Luke, the boys threw out some plastics and scored a few little macks and bonnies. Today I caught the fish on 6" plastics , rapala x-raps and 25 gram raider metals, they were chewing on everything.. So that was my arvo, great clean conditions today with only a small swell and a light breeze, just great.... Beautful One handed action shot One of my little rat kings(that blood is mine not his) Matt and Luke, more fishraiders Dinner tomorrow night Me and the lizard Bait, berley and dinner (this was enough all the others went back)

fishmaniac
Hey Ray, As usual it sounds like you had a good session off the rocks. Has there been any Longtail tuna pulled from those rocks lately? Andrew

monch
Top effort there mate, lots of bonnies and they are all good sizes, must've been fun on the light gear. Btw, what size x-wrap are you using and is it the deep or shallow diving version? I haven't been able to tempt any of the bonnies, frigates or kings in port hacking with the bigger lures, only tiny 2 inch or smaller lures that you can't cast with any distance
Hodgey
What a difference a day makes! The conditions on the ledge look amazing The reports keep rolling in from our 'correspondent in Avoca' and there's always some crackin' photos thrown in as well. Well done on a highly entertaining session mate. Cheers Hodgey

Yeah mate a nice chunk of salted bonito did the damage on the flattie, I was casting about 70-80 metres out and found the gravelly sandy bottom and that's where he was.. Ray R
I almost came out today after work. Oh well, I'll have to go for a quicky in the morning! Beautiful clear shots Ray, What camera are you using? Just a small Canon 8mp , takes great pics though..
Ray R
Brilliant Pics Ray!!! some nice fish caught also.. A few of my mates wanna head up your way but I do not want them to come till they at least have some rockboots. Ill give you a buzz when were up there... Regards. Nathan Rock boots are the most inportant item, and a small life vest of some sort for non swimmers. Conditions dictate the chance of fishing, so if its a bit rough make sure you work out a plan 'B' that way you still fish and the trip is not a waste. Talk soon Nathan..
