Hi Raiders

Caught this while fishing for drummer the other day

does anyone know what it is.

It's been a few years since i tried catching some drummer

and didn't have any luck.

I think i'll just have to put in a bit more time

Must be some sort of wrasse or parrot fish I think.

Crimson banded wrasse....

Not bad eating if you eat them fresh...if you dont mind picking out bones.

Hi Anth1, Crimson banded wrasse is right. They are a dime a doz. around long reef. 2 out of 10 for eating quality.

They actually have quite a sweet meat, not bad with chilli, garlic and ginger.... But like i said, a lot of bones.

I'll have to try the chilly, garlic and ginger and see if they are any better.

Male Crimson Banded Wrasse, Female is more of a plain Brown.

Have a bit of a search, this critter has come up a couple of times.
