0 Black Bandit Posted August 27, 2010 Share Posted August 27, 2010 It is a goby. Extremely common but not usually caught because of their small size. The species was/is Favonigobius lateralis (genus may have changed). This species has elongated stripes along its body which originate on the spots in the centre of its flank. There are hundreds of goby species in Australian waters. Their pelvic fins (the fins underneath the body but in front of the anal fin)are fused together to form a sucking disc.
