Anyone who might even be able to drop by and give us a few tips would be very much appreciated.

Of corse our hospitality is offered ;)

Happy birthday mate.

If you can put up with the slow trip, check out pinta bay (off Jerusalem bay) that's where most of the social was based from.

Awesome little spot and only a few meters from hairtail territory.

Hey again Raiders,

Thank you all for the birthday wishes :)

Our weekend was great.

Firstly yes we drank responsively, only opening drinks once our anchor was set and let sit to be checked !

We began our journey Friday morning in what i have nicknamed "The FV Walrus" on the mighty Hawkesbury from upstream(no offence to the site sponsors, we will be taking one of your HB's next trip ;) ) taking a 6 hour slow cruise, along with pricless views in every direction we stopped at the historic cemetery, the old church ruins near Bar island, the HMAS Parramatta wreck before anchoring up and enjoying the evening at Mooney Mooney Club for birthday dinner. Then more drinks with the Mrs back on the boat ;)

Saturday morning we fished drifting around the highway bridge for 1 x 35cm squire. Then we decided to venture back over to Mooney Mooney Club again for lunch. After lunch we decided to cruise up to Berowra Creek, find a nice spot and anchor there for the night. We did manage to find a very tranquil spot with our own little private beach and another pricless view. Anchoring close enough that the beach was easily reachable by dinghy. Beers were consumed, fishing rods set and i decided to wander off in the dinghy on a bear grills adventure lol, i went to the beach wandered up and down the river while my Mrs sipping southern and my son fishing sat in the Walrus finding it amusing watching me venture around. When i got back to the FV Walrus and told them of the interesting trip they then wanted to go hahahahaha. I was a bit rowed out by then so i just took us all over to the little beach we had anchored near and ran around like some robinson crusoe family lol.

Upon return to the boat a 39cm flathead was found attached to my sons rod(yes all in holders with clips attached ;) ). We caught a few fish just as the sun was dropping and maybe 45 minutes after but after the flatty all were under and went back. The evening was a repeat of drinks, bbq, music and fall onto the bed :) .

Sunday morning we left Berowra around 10am to cruise back upstream. The trip was very difficult on some stretches of the river due to the wind that came up around 11am, most of the way we could tuck in against the cliff side of the river and get out of the wind but a few times we got hit straight on, glad the tide was running in.

In the wind the FV Walrus really showed why i named it such, it handled like a racing walrus on a mud track ! Even on Friday when the whole river was a millpond the Walrus performed very poorly, setting a straight corse was very difficult, i have driven 60 - 70 ft ers that handled much better.

Due to the Walrus perfoming so disgustingly i had to do alot of the driving until the Mrs got the hang of it otherwise i would have consumed more beer lol hahaha. Although the Walrus performed badly we didn't let it ruin our trip, it was quite a joke once i named it the FV Walrus and told my Mrs and son that it handled like a racing walrus on a mud track.

Thats our adventure for my birthday and weekend trip ;)

Thanks,

Parrot

Hello Raiders,

I return the gratitude, thanks for your welcomes :)

Gald you all found our weekend adventure and my descriptive wrtiting a stimulating read. Shame the fish aren't as excited lately.

I have resorted to hunting tackle stores and online to restock my tackle box with bells and whistles, also purchased a couple new rod and reels sitting up in th garage rafters the mrs don't know about yet :P

I got myself a Live Fibre 8kg stick, Shimano 8000D baitrunner, Diawa Seabass 10kg stick and Shimano 12000D baitrunner :)

Presently i am determined to consume ales patiently waiting for the weather to warm.

Cheers,

Parrot
