jeffb5.8
Ok So i will be leaving my boat out on the street for a few weeks, here is the list of things I have thought about to try and protect it. 1. good waterproof cover / motor cover and tie downs 2. Trailer wheel lock / Clamp 3. Tow Hitch lock 4. Empty the stuff out of it like sounder, Epirb, battery isolated 5. Chained to street sign 6. Wheel chocks even though it's flat. 7. Change my insurance anything I have missed?
raging
Take spare wheel off or lock it. I have a spare wheel chock lock thingy if you want to borrow.
Foghorn
Will you be blocking the sign? Are you sure you are not inconveniencing others? If all the above are ok get a movement detector.
recurve
Put the motor all the way down and disconnect the ignition. If they tow it they will carve the concrete and make a hell of a racket. Likely to be pulled over.
kingfishbig
You can get cheap tracking devices these days which interface with a smart phone. Locks and clamps are not a major obstacle if they really want your boat.

Regan
like the others have said i would buy a GPS tracker, another thing you could do is make sure they cant get the cover of the boat off so they cant trash the inside.

Guessing you could ask family/friends to baby sit her if you haven't already?Another thing is if you have friendly neighbours that currently Park on the street, perhaps they could park right in front and behind your boat. I've had a tinnie and always kept it out the front on the street with no trouble, But now that ive upgraded to a bigger runabout, I don't feel as comfortable leaving it parked on the street
Smasher
I'm also interested in these motion sensors! Are they wired to your boats battery or have their own battery that requires periodic charging? Having an alert that appears on your phone would be ideal but how would that work without the unit having a sim card? Also any recommendations on GPS trackers? rickmarlin62
mine has lithium batteries that last for ages..i only use it if I park it out the front.its normally in yard behind gates with my loving caring ridgeback minding it...it doesn't use batteries hahaha..rick
