Advice on New Reel for Squid Setup

Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend some reels (preferably very light weight) for some land-based squid jigging?

I ended up grabbing the 8'6" Rovex Egi Squid Specialist Rod from Dinga but looking for the ideal reel to pair it with. Happy to spend anywhere between $100-$300.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It is a 2500 size reel but with much less line capacity.  Drag to suit.

Its because of the shallow spool and but with 2500 sized spool for further casting i believe. Same as my Sephia

Squidding tackle is one of those things that could be done from a simple handline to $500+ tackle.

Start simple and work your way up!

Big orange snake stores used to stock those rods. From my memory they are not very light, even the smaller one 7'6". I would suggest to visit a store and check the rig feeling/balancing  first with a few different reel models and sizes -before doing a few hundreds dollars reel commitment for $50 rod.
