We are here for a week with the Campbelltown Catholic Club Fishing Club.

Swordie and Des were up at sparrows and hit the 40m mark north of Ulladulla Harbour. Armed with Swordie’s “secret bait” aka Woolies peeled prawns they were on. First drop down with a paternoster rig and bang they were into them!

Swordie and Des bagged out on snapper and flathead and caught some pigfish, nannygai, leatherjackets and trevally.

Swordie won the fish of the day with his 1.61 kg Morwong.

A great day out with Des.

Yes Stewy you may go tomorrow if you win those dollars again :)

Nice work, some great fish!

One quick thing though, may well pay to check out this link https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/pests-diseases/animal-health/aquaculture/white-spot-disease

In NSW it's recommended not to use prawns intended for human consumption as bait to prevent the spread of white spot disease. We want to protect our fishery, this disease wiped out over 2 million prawns intended for stocking, if it gets into our waterways it has the potential to cause irreparable damage to our prawn fishery!

Great fish again guys, just wanted to put that information out there!

Hi Donna,

Glad you and Swordie had a good time, it was a pleasure having you guys in camp.

Unfortunately the numbers and size of reddies was a  down this yea, apparently due to a cold current that came through a couple of weeks ago according to one of the locals.

Looking forward to doing all again next year.

Cheers,

Thommo

Fantastic @Thommo to see you are a long term raider member!! Did you realise it was us?

We had a great time at your club meet. A lovely bunch of like minded people and lots of laughs after the days fishing.

There were some great fish caught and Stewy was thrilled with the size and quantity of the snapper he caught.

You ran a professional event and a very tight ship. Very generous with your time and prizes.

Thanks again Thommo

Hi Donna,

Yes I had met you guys a few years ago at Gabes boating and fishing.

Like fishraider we are not your normal male dominated fishing club with most of our wives playing and active role and from time to time giving us a fishing lesson. The biggest fish for the week was caught by a lady (Nat Harrison) a 2.8kg reddie, Nat was also "Champion Lady Angler" for the week so she could only win one category.

Safety is paramount with our outings, with all of us leaving together and returning to the wharf at the same time assisting with launching and retrieval of the boats as well as radio contact being maintained throughout the day.

I would also like to thank you for the write up and photos you have placed on your fabulous site.

Cheers,

Thommo
