After yesterdays disappointment in not yielding any fish I decided to fight inflation and stock up on flatties for the next 2 weeks.

Launched from grays point approx 530am, to which I was greeted with a mixed swell, lumpy, bit of a washing machine early on.

Tried for squid around the entrance for zilch, waited for the the sun to actually get out from behind the cloud to see what difference it would make and it did.

By 7am heading out 300m past the bommie it around 35m to find a infestation of small blue spots, after pinning 1 good flathead I decided to go deeper.

40m again small blue spots, uhhh…

45m bang crabstar was on the go, but was quickly running out of bait, finished about 930am with a good double hook up…

back to grays point about 10am

A Nice bag of flatties. Since winter, the bigger blue spots have been around the 150 foot mark, whereas most years I usually find them in 100 foot of water, so don't have to head as far. For some reason they are sitting out deeper this half of the year.
