Port hacking squid

Larkin

Recommended Posts

Loaded up on some livies & headed just outside of port hacking - weather was perfect early morning, but as soon as I got out of the heads the wind picked up and it got real messy real quick. Landed 2 rats just over the 60cm mark (one on a livie and one on a jig), and then the bite stopped. Went back inside and picked up two squid in about an hour. Hoods around the 20cm mark. Came home early due to the wind.

Bugger about the wind, however, 2 squidlies better than none.

Now back in Sydney, so will have to give it a go.

I was expecting the wind - was just hoping they had got it wrong. A few squid about - bit of work to get them at the moment.

Good stuff Larkin, nice job with the squid. Seems they are still around.

Well done.

A few decent sized ones at the moment - but not heaps - had to work for these a little.

Some nice squid there.

I’ve noticed that the Hacking generally holds bigger squid in the shallows than Botany Bay or Jervis Bay.

The hacking gets some good ones inside - I’ll sometimes squid outside and the sizes I tend to get are similar to what’s inside.
