Lonely King!

Recommended Posts

Gday raiders,

went out for a fish today.
Yakkas were hard to get… until they weren’t.

Headed offshore up around Coogee way. Plan was to do a bit of exploring of new ground.

Explored some deep water reefs, but the fish just weren’t on the bite today.
Managed a nice little king on a bonito strip bait! Was a tough fighter! Measured 67cm

Released to fight another day!

also got a Bonnie (which was kept to make baits) and a barracouta (on plastics) which went back.

was one of those hard slog days!

Got to enjoy the anticipation of a day planned on the water. Sometimes expectations are met, other times not. A nice fight with a spirited Kingie would always be a plus, releasing it to fight another day, icing on the cake. Well done, bn

We all have them days Larkin nice king

They weren’t biting out there - not even the yakkas!

could see yakkas everywhere, but not taking bait for over an hour - then they switched on and one came up after the next in no time.

A day out in this weather is a bonus in itself Chris! Nice release👌

Thanks Rob!

Windy and choppy early on, but the sun poked its head out and the day turned out really nice.

Nice work Chris. A legal king, which is appreciated, and Barry Couta, a despised critter. The water is cool now.

Thanks Dave!
provided a bit of entertainment out there on a quiet day. Geez those cootas smell!

@Larkin  If you want some real action go Rock fishing.

Cheers.

Haha - haven’t been rock fishing in years. Back in my early 20’s used to go the national park all the time.

Wow, kudos for the early start on a jetski, that's tough atm!

yeah a face full of cold water sure does make you feel alive! 😂

Over winter I use waterproof gear neck down, sailors smock and kokatat full waterproof pants which keep me dry.

well done mate on getting out there and being able to wrangle up a fish.

Cheers Kantong - conditions were good, but fish just weren’t hungry. At least one king came to the party!
