Rebel
Hi All, After school the boys wanted to go fishing. They like rock fishing. Cloudy & overcast. Not many people, sometimes this place is packed. Caught 2 Tailor to start with. The boys wanted to keep them. Ended up with 4 nice Bonnies & 1 Bream. Puppy will be happy. Used Metal lures & fresh squid. The boys have come a long way. They now fillet their fish like Pro's Top afternoon. Cheers.
Green Hornet
Another nice catch Rebel. Seems like the bonito are going to hang around right through winter this year, I can’t ever remember that happening before. Good thing the boys are filleting their own catch too, you’ve obviously trained them well. 1

Yowie
Another good day out, fish for everyone (even Fido). Good the see the kids are in to fishing. I remember fishing after school (in the 60's), Yowie Bay wharf (different to what it is now) more of a social event than fishing, however, still fish were caught by all. When the tailor schools turned up, it was people running to the wharf to catch one or two each before the school disappeared.

As we know, rock fishing is foolproof but not idiotproof mate. Teach the teens the right way, what to look for and they’ll be safe. I know what some of you are going to say it is dangerous. So is driving a motor car. Cheers. It’s not just the fishing Rebel, there are heaps of important things they are learning while fishing. For example, the listening to others bit. Then there is the part where you’re not going to do too well unless you hone your craft and are observant. That is the foundation of the growth mindset. Then there is an element where you might still not always catch cricket scores of good fish, even if you do the right things. You need a little luck. That’s just a lesson in life and gratitude, and the need to keep plugging away at it. Then of course there is the danger thing. Life is dangerous, you can’t avoid it. So it’s good they are learning to look at risk objectively and take the requisite precautions to mitigate it. There are many more. All great lessons in life and a real gift they are getting from you. 4
