Wild storm

Not too sure how wide this storm is, but, currently, there’s wild lightning, heavy rain and very strong winds here in the southern Illawarra, pretty amazing (and somewhat scary) seeing the lightning.

It’s all over, moved out to sea, then south, pretty exciting while it was on.

No, all good now, just distant lightning, little wind and drizzling rain, it was like a tornado thing, just came over, black, wind, rain, horrendous lightning, then just as quick, moved away, seemed very local, my mate lives about 10k away and he said there was just lightning and some rain, almost no wind……go figure.

Clear sky now, must have been a narrow band of “crap” at one point, the wind was howling, here, yet I  could see the smoke at Port Kembla going straight up! The wind came from the SW for 10 minutes, then almost due east, then north, then nothing.

I was down on The Basin as the clouds and thunder rolled over the hills that sent me packing.
It eventually passed to the west of us heading northeast, hitting from Nowra and up. We just got a few spots and enough thunder to set the dogs off.

Just heard a man was struck by lightning at Albion Park, and over 4,000 lightning strikes were recorded in that short time the storm was raging, no idea who or how they count lightning strikes.
