So this morning woke up 4am to clontarf to practice shore jigging casting. At 60 g on a 20 -80 gram rod, I reach 70m still need more time on 9'6 rod

Fished sandflats on surface at run out with sugapen knockoffs from aliexpress. I have one on assist and several With trebles

Bagged 43cm flathead keeper for dinner

Left at 12pm

Also note. Do not gym night before shore jigging

Well done @faker. A lot of people haven’t got a surface flatty yet, myself included.

Dod you get it over the shallow portion of the flats or past the drop off? Just curious as the water off the drop off is really quite deep.

Shallow portion. Approximately waist height but close enough to edge of drop off. I have spooked flathead knee deep in narrabeen.

Nice work @faker. Do you find the action on the “sugarpen” is much different with assist compared to treble hooks?

I don't think so. I have only ever used the assist on 70 mm so far not the 85. Only time it affect action is when trebles get caught on assist. This was during session with Derek off narrabeen
